We booked this one day excursion with R&E and were very pleased with the service in spite of a couple of glitches. First, I would have appreciated a confirmation a day or two before the tour. As it turned out, we had to reach out to them to find out what time we would be picked up. However, our guide, Edwin, was very nice and very knowledgable about the indigeneous people as well as all things Panama. Since we were his only guests, he was able to offer us options for the day's schedule. We opted to skip the waterfall and go directly to the village and it worked out very well for us. We had ample time to explore and shop and enjoy the village. For people who are history/culture buffs, this is a fascinating experience and the crafts they sell are very well done, not cheesy touristy stuff. And the village itself was quite authentic, not jazzed up to impress the tourists. All in all, it was a day well spent. On the way back to the hotel, we had some car trouble and Edwin handled everything very smoothly. He apologized several times but we were not upset, cars sometimes break down.

One detail that worked well for us is that they advertise that their trips originate in Panama City and we were staying in Gamboa. R&E arranged (at a small additional fee) to have us picked up in Gamboa and it worked out very well. Overall, it was a wonderful, memorable day.

My wife and I and my brother and his wife booked our transfers in Panama using the “Layover Panama” web site. It was very easy to use and only required a $20 deposit.
We arrived in Panama on Delta Flight 1905 on Dec 30 – a terrible flight with unnecessary delays that eventually arrived about 90 minutes late, a little after 9:30 p.m. We were able to communicate with Layover Panama via WhatsApp and let them know of the delays and our driver Saul was waiting for us with a big smile, holding a sign with my family name on it, as soon as we got through immigration. Saul speaks fluent English and loaded our bags into a large comfortable white van and drove all 4 of us exhausted seniors in air conditioned comfort to our hotel, pointing out many of the local highlights on the way.
We had arranged for Saul to pick us up at 11:00 a.m. on Jan 01 to take us to our AirBnb condo in Playa Coronado and he arrived on time and drove us to our condo. He had forewarned us that the drive would take 1 ½ to 2 hours due to traffic and construction on the Pan-American highway and the trip took about 1 ¾ hrs including a stop where we took pictures of the Bridge of the Americas and the Panama Canal, including some that Saul took of the 4 of us. Saul is proud of his country and provided us with a lot of great information about Panama. We had a lot of questions and he was excellent at explaining everything to us. The ride to Coronado was great and we arrived without any problems.
I highly recommend Layover Panama, they are very professional, dependable and had no issues adapting to the delays in our flights, even though it was a holiday weekend in Panama.

Edwing gets 100% for his overall interaction with our group. He was waiting for us when we arrived at the airport. He greeted us warmly and instantly we felt at ease. On our drive to the hotel, he was informative, knowledgeable and friendly. He spoke English fluently and we learned a lot about the history of Panama. He offered his services for any tours we might want to take. We opted to do the tour of the Panama Canal and old Town. He picked us up right on time and we had an exciting day. He recommended a restaurant for us to have lunch and the food was awesome. A member of our group was having a birthday and we asked for his recommendation. He suggested the restaurant En La Fonda, which was an excellent choice. It was an interactive experience between staff and audience, we danced, we sang and all in all had a great time. Overall, I would say that Edwing bent backwards to help us enjoy Panama and we are truly grateful. He became a friend.

We visited The Embera Village with Edwin who’s top notch guide with a lot of knowledge which he was gladly sharing during the whole trip. We were so glad we booked the private tour, which was few dollars more expensive than any group tour but definitely worth every penny. On the canoe it was just me, my wife, Edwin and two Amazing Embera Folks navigating through the river and taking us over to a beautiful waterfall where we could swim and enjoy the natural beauty. Then we continue on the River for about 15 more min and got to the village which needs to be visited by everyone to experience the Embera Life.

Enrique gave us a wonderful overview of the old city during our layover in Panama City; he was a personable, well informed tour guide. Also very well organized securing our canal tickets while we had lunch to ensure we had time to do everything within our aloted time. Good knowledge of the history and current events in Panama which made tour very interesting and informative. Highly recommend this tour if you have a layover in Panama or are spending a few days.

We had a tour with R&E Transfer Panama (Layover Panama) to the Monkey Islands together with a tour guide, led by Edwing. Edwing was very nice, professional and knowledgable. He spoke fluent English, he was very open to chat and to answer any questions regarding the areas we visited, but also about Panama in general. It was obvious that he is very passionate about what he does. He picked us up directly from the hotel, and he arrived exactly on time! We went to Gamboa area, where we took a boat and rode through the canal to the Gatun Lake. In the meantime, we saw a few huge cargo boats and trains passing by. The areas around the canal and the lake were very lush and beautiful. We saw a group of Capuchin monkeys. They jumped on the boat, looking for food and ran around us. The feeling was exhilirating. Of course, follow the guides instructions when interracting with the monkeys. We also saw Canopy monkeys up close, turtles, toucan birds and other wild life from the area. Before we returned, we visited Gamboa village as well. The experience was very pleasant overall and we highly recommend this tour.

From start to finish this was a very professional company. Prior to departing for Panama, we received an email explaining where to meet the driver. The driver was at the airport arrivals area waiting for us. The stepvan was comfortable for our family of 4 with 4 suitcases and associated hand luggage. I would use this company again

Levy was our tour leader. He is a great person. Easy going and knowledgeable. His English is awesome. We loved hiking to the waterfall and swimming there. The Embera village was so cute and unique. We learned a lot about their culture. They welcomed us by playing music for us at the entrance. We danced with them. The boat riding of trip has its own adventure. Visiting the Panama Canal on the way back while the visitor center was closed because of pandemic was a bless. The whole tour was remarkable. Highly recommend it.

We had Raphael for transport to our two excursions while in Panama. He was very prompt and responsive via WhatsApp. While on the way, he gave us cool history about the places we were passing and places to be careful of. Went above and beyond to make us comfortable and have a great experience. Even when he was double booked he made sure Manuel could pick us up afterwards. Manuel was very nice as well. I would recommend both of them for your transportation needs while in Panama!

Edwing was a fantastic guide! I did the half day layover tour as a solo woman. I got to hit all the things I was hoping to see. He even timed it so that it was likely I'd see a shipping container for through the canal. He was incredibly knowledgeable and cared about me enjoying many things Panama City provides! I would definitely book with Edwing again.
