We booked this one day excursion with R&E and were very pleased with the service in spite of a couple of glitches. First, I would have appreciated a confirmation a day or two before the tour. As it turned out, we had to reach out to them to find out what time we would be picked up. However, our guide, Edwin, was very nice and very knowledgable about the indigeneous people as well as all things Panama. Since we were his only guests, he was able to offer us options for the day's schedule. We opted to skip the waterfall and go directly to the village and it worked out very well for us. We had ample time to explore and shop and enjoy the village. For people who are history/culture buffs, this is a fascinating experience and the crafts they sell are very well done, not cheesy touristy stuff. And the village itself was quite authentic, not jazzed up to impress the tourists. All in all, it was a day well spent. On the way back to the hotel, we had some car trouble and Edwin handled everything very smoothly. He apologized several times but we were not upset, cars sometimes break down.
One detail that worked well for us is that they advertise that their trips originate in Panama City and we were staying in Gamboa. R&E arranged (at a small additional fee) to have us picked up in Gamboa and it worked out very well. Overall, it was a wonderful, memorable day.
