A neat local Science museum in Metro-west Boston

If you live in the west suburban areas of Boston, you got to visit this little Science museum in Acton. You know you are there when seeing a green Dinosaur status on Rt 27. Both... read more

The Discovery House and Discovery Museum as well as the outdoor areas are a nice surprise hidden away in Acton. We took our 3 1/2 year old during school vacation week so no one to blame but ourselves as we knew it would be busy but it was utterly mobbed. If you are going on a weekend, school vacation or... If you live in the west suburban areas of Boston, you got to visit this little Science museum in Acton. You know you are there when seeing a green Dinosaur status on Rt 27. Both of my kids grew up visiting the place and volunteered there later in their life. It is a hands-on place, very suited for younger kids.... More

Fun place for all ages. With recent treehouse play area there is no some outdoor space for kids to run, play and slide in. Make sure to visit both houses, plenty to keep kids busy and entertained. Also great location for birthday parties!

Had our 3.5 year old grandaughter for the day. Wanted to do something a little special to entertain her. On Rte 27 in Acton had driven by the Discovery Museum 1000's of times but never been inside. Thought the approx, $12/pp daily rate was a little pricey for an hour or two of entertainment but oh how wrong I was.... More

The activities are fun for the kids, but the building for ages 0-6 is just not safe. It is 3 floors, separated by steep stairs. In one of them there is no safety gate (due to fire regulation according to the staff). This makes the place very unsafe for babies and small children.

Took our grandson here and he had a ball. Lot's of interactive things for the kids to play with and burn off some energy. There are two separate buildings here, The one in the front is geared more for the younger crowd, and the back one for older kids.

I took my 2 grandchildren to this museum on a rainy Sunday in October. They are 3 and 1, and each had a wonderful time in spite of the crowds. Lots to explore for an adventuresome 3 year old, and plenty of small and secure spots for the 1 year old to explore. It'll be fun to go back when... More

We had not been there in years, since my son is now older. I recently took my nieces there and was so impressed with the new exhibits. The outdoor space is fantastic. There is almost too much to do in one day. Great time.

What a lovely gem. The Discovery Musseum is a wonderful place to visit with young children. There is much to do with a museum, science museum and a wonderful outside area with a newly built Tree House. Very reasonably priced and will keep children busy for hours.

New tree house was a hit with the kids, especially the rope net. Excellent addition to an already very family friendly museum experience.
