An excellent museum that has impressive displays of costumes, tools, and of course the mummy's of 2 women, and a child. That display is very well done! There is even a place for children to sit and draw and learn about the Inuit people.

It is a little hard to find, but it is interesting, especially there temporary exhibitions. The collection of greenlandic art pieces - mostly paintings - are put up a bit unstructured, but it gives you a good impression of older and more modern art of...More

It's an interesting museum about art in Greenland. I think you'll really enjoyed the paintings reflecting nature, human vs. nature etc..., ivory pieces are equally really nice while certain pieces of art (especially modern/contemporary art on the second floor) will make you wrinkle your nose...More

After travelling with silver seas through the remotest of places in Greenland Nuuk was a welcome sight. This was a step up on the other museums we visited in the smaller settlements. The mummy's were the highlight. The museum is a must if visiting this...More

This is a really interesting museum that bridges the contemporary and older, and presents a very complete picture of Greenlandic culture and history. The staff are enthusiastic and the museum director has a vision for what the museum can become. Absolutely worth the visit.More

We enjoyed an hour here and were impressed by the Arctic scenes from the 1920's and 39's painted by Emanuel Petersen. There are also displays of modern Greenlandic art. This was a good introduction to the country during our first few days in Greenland.

Try to fit in a visit to the art museum. I really enjoyed my time visiting and though it's a small place, I managed to spend over an hour reading all the interesting collection.

Very nice museum, friendly and helpful staff. We were positively surprised, there are some really nice paintings here, and the Tupilaks were also very good. Some of the newer paintings were less interesting in my opinion, but maybe somebody else would have the opposite view.
