This was a return visit for us, and again we spent many hours down here. The history combined with the absolutely stunning scenery is a winning combination. All visitors to the island gravitate to this area. As well as the Museum pass that gives you access to many of the buildings, there is much to explore on your own.

It's hard to believe that such horrible things happened in what is now such a beautiful place. An interesting place to wander around in at different times of the day. Such an amazing spot especially when the waves are crashing in and the sun is going down. One of the best places on an island that has beautiful places in... More

Great to walk around and see the remains of the old jail and hear its history. Magnificent old stone wall still surrounds the site.

The history of the island and it's different inhabitants is well displayed in this historic area. The tag along tours are also great for learning some of the personal stories. Well presented and each of the 4 museums has something unique to offer.

A lot of history has happened at this island. All the stories of the convicts and the trials they had to cope was unbelievable over many years. It is good to see the buildings are so well maintained

There is easy access to all the historical buildings and ruins in the Kingston area. Plenty of signage and museums housed in some of the buildings to provide a good insight into the convict periods.

Not much of the original gaol to be seen, only the high walls surrounding gaol. Can view one of the original homesteads, all of which are in excellent condition.

Traveled to Norfolk Island for work but had the time to visit the old settlements ruins . Just the atmosphere in the area gives you a sense of the hardship and pain that must have been experienced in this place. Then a trip to the historical cemetery you can be immersed into the life and death of those early settlers... More
