Disclaimer that our trip was in October, past peak season. On the day that we went to Madaket Beach, it’s was insanely windy and there was not another soul on the beach. So at least during the off-season, don’t look for boardwalks or restaurants or lifeguards. It was still lovely, but hang on tightly to your hat!…

Madaket Beach is easy to get to and very clean. There is free parking and lifeguards were on duty while we were there.

We drove out to the beach on our rented scooter and the ride out was fabulous. Very scenic. The beach was lovely and we sat for a bit to watch people surf. Great spot to walk along the beach and just enjoy the scenery. Very clean as well.

We rode our bikes out to Madaket because we'd been told it was a great spot to watch the sunset and it was fabulous! Because we visited in the middle of September, the crowds had died down significantly and it was like being on your own private beach and the far end of the island. Sadly Millie's, the famous restaurant at the beach, was closed so we have another reason to go back to Nantucket! …

Fairly wide beach, long stretch to walk. Only one restaurant nearby, Millies, but I would recommend it. No lifeguards, the water can be a but rough bit certainly can wade in to cool off. Saw one seal - no great whites however!
