I took so many photos of this volcano while visiting Antigua. You can see it from pretty much every street. Go to the arch way for the iconic volcano/arch photo. Be sure to get one with it above the arch and under. And, tip: if...More

This is clearly seen from most of the City and is amazing. Has not erupted for many years but like most volcanoes the threat is there. We stopped for photos at one with a wisp of smoke coming over from the cruise port.

This volcano can be done in an overnight hike (some can do it all in one day, not me). You need a guide for safety reasons.

Not suitable for climbing due to assaults. If you decide to climb it, take a guide. The city of Antigua is at the foot of the Agua volcano.

Our tour guide explained that this was a volcano which liked to blow off steam regularly. She advised that we could get a good photo with the arch framing the volcano, which we did. Only when we were driving out of Antigua did we see...More

It is fun to be able to say that I slept in the crater of a volcano six years ago yesterday! It took us eleven hours to climb up. We were met with some hot chocolate at the top and then went down to set...More
