About
This quiet beach on the Marjan Peninsula is just a short bus ride from Split's Old Town and a quieter alternative to the popular Bacvice Beach. The crescent-shaped cove is surrounded by the tree-covered cliffs of Marjan Hill and the turquoise waters are clean and clear. Rent a sun lounger by the beach bar and admire the views, or simply lay out a beach towel on the pebbly beach. The shore has some rocky areas and sea urchins, so footwear is recommended. While you're in the area, you can check out the historic side of the peninsula and the walking trails of Marjan Hill on a day trip. – Tripadvisor

- Paula KAlavus, Finland19 contributionsNice beach, but hugely overpriced sunbedsBeautiful beach and nice to swim. BUT shockingly expensive sunbeds, 35 euros/pc! Because of this, most of the beds weren't used. We didn't even dare to use the beach bar, which had a monopoly on sunbeds. One time on this beach was enough.Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 5 October 2023
- katrinadaviesBath, United Kingdom78 contributionsRocky beach with clear water. It's about a 50min walk from split. The beach bar is very clean and has beautiful sunbeds if your willing to pay 35 euros for a bed. The beach bar and sunbeds are cash only. The beach area is covered in gravel and so is the sea floor so make sure you pack your beach shoes as it's painful to walk on. We were there early on a Saturday and it was busy with locals. You don't have to get a bed you can sit on the floor but bring ab umbrella as there's not shade.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 June 2024
- Katherine LBrighton and Hove, United Kingdom16 contributionsLovely but expensive10 mins from split harbour by bike. Lovely beach no doubt but very busy and extremely expensive. €35 per person for a lounger and expensive food and drinks. This place is also cash only.Written 23 July 2024
- TallulBridgnorth, United Kingdom73 contributionsBring cashThere are two bars on the beach owned by the same owner. Neither accept card unless you spend €70 in a single transaction. We arrived with €20 cazh because our research led us to believe you could use cards. They have a cash point but it wasn't working. One of the bar does let you run up a tab, the other doesn't. One bar has loud house music, the other is a bit more mainstream. Friendly enough staff but the rules around card payments were unnecessarily complicated. Take cash and expect lots of young people having a great time. Walk to the second bar if you're over 40/50/60!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 July 2024
- milcvNottingham, United Kingdom398 contributionsBeautiful, does get busyLovely clear water and clean pebble beach, we arrived early and made our way to the far end of the beach where there was plenty of space. Later in the day it does get very busy, so bear this in mind. FKK friendly section available as well.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 July 2024
- Clara G3 contributionsDefinitely check it outA very gorgeous beach. The water was the clearest compared to the other beaches we’ve been to in Split. You can lay comfortably on the stones and I loved that I didn’t feel dirty from any sand. On top of that, the stones are quite small, thus they don’t leave any marks like I’ve experienced on other beaches. It was quite crowded, though, and a very small beach. Overall, a very pleasant experience. The views were unmatched and great atmosphere!Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 9 August 2024
- Kate MRozelle, Australia13 contributionsStunning, secluded beach to swim and enjoy cocktails!Beautiful beach to relax and swim for the day. Crystal clear waters and a chilled atmosphere. The food at Joe’s beach house is very basic, but the beach service and cocktails were excellent. Get an Uber there not a taxi, as they quoted me over 4x the price!Visited September 2024Travelled soloWritten 5 September 2024
- Journey403263 contributionsLovely bay, beautiful sea, expensive loungers. It’s a lovely spot, beautiful clear blue water and backdrop of cliffs & trees. The charge of 35€ per lounger was a little steep especially when we only planned a couple of hours max here. They looked very nice though and are kept well BUT it’s a lost leader charging soooo much as hardly any were booked= make it cheaper and make more money. Or charge less for a couple of hours /half day. The girl on the charging desk for the beach didn’t have a sale the whole time we were here. Listen to that management ! We had a drink and bite to eat at Joe’s beach bar. Quite pleasant, chilled music would provide a nicer vibe. Our ‘club’ sandwich was ham cheese & tomato &’French fries. We had to ask for paper napkins and then we were only given one ! Ditched the lounger idea but the shingle beach was fine to lie on with a towel. Remember appropriate footwearc for the sea, stones &’urchins.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 September 2024
- nwaynesworld2,745 contributionsKasuniGreat beach located 10-15 minutes from the old city. Public transit cost 3 euros per person if you pay on the bus (less if you pre buy the ticket elsewhere). #12 bus - bus shelters have schedule posted. The beach is beautiful for Europe. Pebble beach not fine sand. Water shoes are recommended.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 September 2024

Kasuni beach is great if you don’t have a car to drive to more secluded beautiful spots. You can take an uber for about five euro from the outside of Split city center and be there in 5-10 minutes. We stayed and watched the sunset—it was just gorgeous and quite empty as it was the end of September. There is a nice beach bar next to it, although we opted to sit on towels nearby. The water is clear and blue, and the nearby landscape is forested on one side and with the open water on the other side of the bay. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something a bit more quiet and clean than Bačvice, but still close to the heart of Split.

We went on a Friday in September so not peak season, it was so beautiful. The surroundings are stunning, loved listening to the wildlife whilst sunbathing. Beach was comfortable enough to lie on own towels rather than rent one of the sun beds and we froze drinks the night before to take with us. It doesn’t have to be an expensive day out like previous reviews state. I would highly recommend you visit if in Split.

We loved this beach and spent all day here, its great for a good swim and also just for lounging in the shallows, plenty of space so you can spread out, and joes beach bar is fantastic. The sunbeds were fairly priced and so were food/drinks. If coming from split, you can uber in a few minutes, i wouldn’t recommend walking as its quite a way and not good in the heat, also to approach its on a main road with no path so uber/taxi is best. I would definitely recommend to come here at least once if staying in split as the other beaches nearest the centre are extremely busy and i found this to be much more relaxing and cleaner. There is only joes beach bar here, so either come and be prepared to spend some money on drinks and refreshments or enjoy a hot soggy picnic

We decided to visit this beach on Saturday. We arrived about 12pm and opted to lay our towels on the small pebbles. There were plenty of sun loungers available at that time. The water is beautifully crystal clear. As the hours progressed the beach got much busier and larger groups of young people began drinking, but still managable. We had some fries and drinks from the local bar, which were decent.

Beach not bad although a bit rammed in as not much coastline with sunbeds at €35 each, as a result majority of folks lying away from the sunbeds on towels..😎. Beautiful clear water but take your gel shoes.
Beach Restaurant - Joe's Beach Lounge & Bar poor food at extortionate prices.

We spent the day here, catching the #12 bus from near the church of St Francis in Split. It’s about 7 stops or 8 minutes and costs 12 Kuna each. We missed the stop but stayed on till it looped back, enjoying the forest tour! There are several beach clubs and bars and the sea is pretty clean but pebbly. Sun beds were 190k each. There is parking and on a Sunday there were lots of locals parked up or you can get a taxi, tuktuk or train.

Visited here on recommendation of locals and fairly nice location but still fairly crowded and sun beds on top of each other with umbrellas you can’t move. Also the sun beds are THE most expensive sun beds I’ve ever paid for- £36 for two!! I would expect free drinks with that!! Lovely clear water and great view. Pebble beach but price of sun beds is just ridiculous!

The beach is nice but with pebbles. Water is clear and a bit cold, but you get used to it. I recommend water shoes because it is quite challenging to walk, if you are not used to it. Careful for urchins. I didn't rent a sunbed because I found them expensive. Until 11.00 there are a lot of areas with shade, as there are quite a few trees around. There is available shower and changing area for free. There are two cafeterias/bars where you can buy stuff but I went to LIDL before coming to the beach. There is a bus (bus 12 from Split) that comes here, but honestly I couldn't be bothered, so I took an uber (34 kn). I do recommend a thick towel or a pick-nick blanket for more comfort. In general a pleasant experience. Better to come latest 11.30 for more choices on where to sit.

This beach is a little further out of Split town but defo worth it. It has a stunning forest and cliff backdrop and it relatively laid back.
The further to the right you go, the more gay-friendly it gets.
We stopped at Joe’s 2 beach bar which is less hectic than Joe’s and a little further on. Music was chilled, service great. Loungers €22 euros for the day but seems cheap after holidaying in Mykonos and Ibiza (it’s still not though!)
DON’T get a a cab. Get Uber or bus. We were charged €32 for a metered cab for 10 journey from town. The same journey by Uber was €6(!)
The beach is stony but we managed without aqua socks. Depends how delicate you are!

One of the best!!
It is 10 minutes by bus from the city center. Pebble beach (Recommend rock shoes and rubber mat), availability of free showers and wanting there are two establishments but with absurd prices, 1 sunbed 35 €.
On the right at the bottom there is an exclusively nudist part for the more daring.
The water is spectacular!

Hallo, mit welcher Buslinie kommt man denn zur naheliegenden Bushaltestelle? :)
Written 20 July 2019
Hi there... I was looking for a step by step list of things to do here but I couldn't find it. I would like to ask you a couple of things please:
1. Is it better to get there by bus or by car?
2. Is it ok to bring a lunchbox with drinks and food or that isn't allowed?
3. is it ok to bring my own chair and umbrellas?, or would I be able to find that for rent there at the beach?
Is this a beach that you could recommend us?, or is there any other beaches near Split you could recommend us more/equal?
Any insights will be greatly appreciated. Aloha!! Tony.

Less than 15 minutes, every 20/ 30 minutes frequency. Cost €3. Unless you buy a day rider card at a machine.
