I recently completed my Advanced Open Water Diver certification at DC Blue Planet, and it was an experience I'll cherish forever. Located in the stunning surroundings of Dubrovnik, the dive shop provided an ideal base for exploring the underwater treasures of the area.
From the beginning, all of the staff at DC Blue Planet were incredibly welcoming and professional. Marco and Johnny, my instructors, were extremely knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring that each dive was not only educational but also safe and enjoyable. Their expertise and passion for diving were evident, making every session informative and engaging.
The equipment provided was top-notch, and the dive sites chosen by Marco were breathtaking, full of vibrant marine life and intriguing underwater landscapes. The entire process, from training and pre-dive planning to certification dives, was smooth and very well-organized, allowing me to focus fully on the experience and learning.

I definitely recommend Blue Planet Diving Center to anyone who wants to start their diving journey.
I completed the OWD certicifate thanks to diving instructor Laura who was very patient, helpfull and so professional!

Did morning & afternoon dive. On another day did a night dive. All 3 DMs were good. Max was great on night dive. Rented all eq except mask & snorkel. Dives were as expected. Visibility about 40 feet. Not too much marine life. Did see several octopi and starfish. Best was going through caverns & passthroughs. AM dive about 8 folks, afternoon had 4/group. Night dive was myself and one other. Day dives depth no more than 50’. Night dive 29’. Saw 4 octopi scooting around the bottom on night dive. All DMs did good job on pre-dive briefing. Safety during dive was ok. In general, this is not Caribbean or Pacific diving, however it was nice to do an Adriatic dive.

I did one dive with Blue Planet. As a new diver (30ish dives), I really appreciated our guide's approach to safety, equipment, and buoyancy. The dive plan was explained thoroughly and our guide was very clear with his communications.

Sylvia and Marco were incredibly attentive. From booking and her wonderful communication on email, I felt were were going to be in great hands. I'm an SSI (old) diver so I already knew what to expect but 20yrs rusty; my 16yr old son was new at it. My husband had 1 other dive under his belt. Marco is passionate about safety so don't let his firmness or seriousness scare you....he's just making sure you're safe. I felt my family was safe under his command. We did pay the extra for the pictures...well worth it. Get some t-shirts too!

We had a super experienced and calm dive guide with Maro. We enjoyed it a lot, saw a lot of fish and two moraines. We stayed in Little Africa and at Lokrum Island, Dead Sea. Highly recommended 😃

I choosed Blue Planet Diving Center as they wrote to dive in small groups depending on the individual certification level. On the website you can find very nice Dive-Spots for Advance Open water Divers, however in fact you wont go there. It is right that they split the groups between advanced open water divers and normal/beginners/courses however they just bring the groups to the same dive spot. For that day there were ~18 divers on the boat.
After the first dive, which was half of the time at 8m depth (AOWD Group) I asked to skip the second dive and if I could get my money back and only pay for the one dive. However I was told that there is no possiblity for just paying one dive due to "firm policy", as I already purchased the two dive package.
If you are searching for a profit-maximizing dive school you schould go here, If you want a nice individual diving experience you should go to an other one.
Equipment was good, people friendly etc. but dont be dazzled by the professional and advertising website and a friendly contact in advance.

Thank you for your review and for noting the friendliness and professionalism of my staff, they work very hard to make give everyone the best experience.
Yes there were a total of 18 divers on a large 10 m speedboat, but the divers were divided into 3 groups per 1 instructor. 6 people per instructor or divemaster is a small group for experienced divers. We try to keep divers of the same skill level together and we usually take all the divers to the same dive site. All the sites have a more advanced option, while not all the sites are appropriate for OWD divers.
If the instructor kept you at 8 m for part of the dive, he/she either thought that was where the most interesting things to see were (usually the most marine life there) or someone in the group was struggling so they kept the initial part of the dive shallow until everyone was comfortable. If someone has trouble equalizing then they cannot go deeper even if their certificate would allow them to and we must take care of those divers.
We do not offer refunds for the 2 daily dive option because you didn't like the first dive. The second dive is always different and you cannot know that you would not like that one before trying it. Not all dive sites will be everyone's favourite and each is unique. By taking the 2 dive option you secure your spot for both dives and take the space of someone else.
I am sorry you did not enjoy the dive site chosen on the day of your dive. I wish you had given us another chance to show you the beauty of the dive sites here.

Hi Suze, we stayed at some airbnbs near the dive school about 15 minute walking distance. I could truely recommend the place called 'family recidence close to beach terrace and bbq' of Hrvoje or 'Relaxo apartment'. If you want to look yourself make sure you book an apartment in the Lapad area!

We don`t sell snorkeling equipment, we only rent it, but not out of our diving center. The price is 90 Croatian kuna per person/per day. You can rent the equipment in our diving center and we can show you the location of our house reef, the best place to snorkel in this area.

For uncertified divers we offer these programs:
For Karen we have these options:
- Introductory dive: 45 minutes of theoretical lesson followed by dive on our house reef to max. 6 m depth. Price is 545 (73 EUR) Kuna, equipment included.
- Discover scuba diving: 45 minutes of theoretical lesson followed by 2 dives on our house reef, first one to 6 m, second one to 12 m depth. Dives are registered in PADI database and credited towards Open Water Diver certification in case you decide to become a certified diver. Price is 795 kuna (106 EUR), equipment included.
Both programs are performed on our house reef, from the shore.
We can also offer you free of charge shuttle service on Dubrovnik area (pick up: before the first and the second dive, drop off: after the second dive).
