After we checked into Aminess Grand Azur Hotel , Orebic on 19 October 2016, we chartered a speed boat for an excursion to Korcula Island. We didn't have to walk far, just walked down from our hotel, boat was waiting. During our boat ride, we knew Korcula Island is a very beautiful island , views were fantastic. Our guide brought... We thought the boats were the car ferries but no we had to get onto a small overloaded ferry, not pleasant.

Beautiful island, kind of a small Dubrovnik, with an old city surrounded by walls. The alley right on the beach is a great place to swim, eat (lot's of good restaurants with great views), and stroll of course for maybe some shopping. If you take one of the organized tours from Dubrovnik (and there are a lot!), you get the... More

Talk about having fun! the boat ride over from Brac island was exciting and arriving at Korcula was amazing, the wall city was spectacular. When were then picked up and transported to a Lumbarda where 8 of us by two's were given dune buggies to drive through the vineyards and olive groves. Amazing views from up top, a secluded beach,... Nice small town which is very quick to discover and you think you've missed something. Good to walk around and very scenic from within and from the sea as you approach

Well worth the bus trip to this small old town on the island of Korcula. The climb up the bell tower is well worth the effort for the spectacular views. You can also see Marco Polo's house and birthplace (although Venice also claims this). Great day trip, especially if you stop off at Ston on the way.
