I'd say avoid the souvenir shops here and you'll be golden. We visited in early December, so they had the street decked out like a Christmas Market of sorts, but the huts that were set up basically all served the same thing (sausages on buns...More

People are confusing Brsalje w/ the Stradun. Brsalje is the street right outside of the Pile Gate where all the tour buses stop to drop off or pick up their passengers.

Both sides of this street is filled with cafes, restaurants, jewelry stores, and old palaces. There are numerous narrow side streets that you can see laundry hanging from higher floors. Below are cafes and night clubs that are more reasonable priced. Very colorful street.

Brsalje Street is the main walkway through the city and is therefore extremely busy. We went during October and this was still evidently observable and is easy to see that it may be heaving during summer. Despite this, the street is inexplicably clean and is...More

We visited Dubrovnik in 1975 and loved it. We came back and didn't. There are 2 main problems. One is mass tourism. You cannot escape the crowds, the guides and the selfie sticks. The other is the place was badly damaged in the war and...More

We were lucky enough to stay in an apartment overlooking Brsalje Street for our visit to Dubrovnik. During the day it takes on different moods and functions, early in the morning it's a peaceful place as the city wakes. As the visitors arrive it becomes...More

Beautifully clean and very scenic but extremely busy due to being right inside the city wall and the first street you come too.

By walking around the walled Old City you will almost certainly walk into this area. Well worth while and very good photo opportunities.
