While my wife browsed nearby I was given permission to enter this Serbian Orthodox Church. The interior was different to a Catholic church, no altar that I could see, just the Iconostasis separating the sanctuary from the nave. There are a number of icons and,...More

Located in the heart of Old Town, the Serbian Orthodox church has some handsome icons and a particularly fine iconostasis. The church exuded a glowing spirituality, making it a good place to escape the tourist bustle and contemplate Dubrovnik's survival in the face of its...More

This was one of our favorite churches because it was so different than the Catholic churches in the city. It was simpler and had a brighter color pallet. We found it lovely and definitely worth a quick visit. I did not choose to visit the...More

This is not a church that makes you say "Wow!". It is a nice church in a very nice setting of other old buildings.

This is a Serbian Orthodox Church located near the Placa Street(a main street) . I felt its interior was very simple and calm. It was my first time to see real black Virgin and Child on its wall! There was Icon Museum in the same...More

This church is located in the old City. It is relatively new in those parts--late 19th century, and clearly signifies a minority house of worship in Catholic-dominated Croatia. But the murals in orthodox-Byzantine style are gorgeous. Apparently there exists a museum, which wasn't open. The...More

Interesting contrast in design and decoration to the main catholic churches in dubrovnik old town. Well maintained exterior and the interior has a nicely painted roof. Worth pooping in for a cooling rest in a nice space.

We visited this Church on a Sunday afternoon, expecting a quiet experience. There was a tour guide with his party occupying the pews while he gave his talk. We felt unable to intrude too far. Our impression was of a rather dark interior. As it...More

Surrounded by a black wrought iron fence and raised up from the ground, this pretty little white church was quite different from the other catholic churches in Dubrovnik. Most of Dubrovnik's churches were rebuilt after the earthquake in the 1600's, but this church was built...More
