The interior is beautiful. If open be sure to visit.

Most just see the exterior. But when open it's a really lovely church.

Partly because my husband’s middle grandson is named Blaise, I stopped at St. Blaise’s Church. It was Sunday, and a Mass had just begun, so I decided to stay for it. The marble in the side chapels was of varied colors and amounts of veining. On either side of the main altar were twin spiral columns of black-veined white marble. The “choir” consisted of three young women with good voices, who sang liturgical music with a pop twist to the melodies. They held their microphones in front of their mouths like rock stars. I wondered if we’d heard their voices floating up to us the night before from a bar along the harbor. They were accompanied by a man on an electric piano. Unlike the situation in Catholic churches in the U.S., there were almost as many men as women in the congregation, and the young and the middle-aged were well-represented.

Benedikt Gundulić, had the votive Church of St Blaise on Gorica built in the year 1347, this most likely, on the site of an older church which was mentioned for the first time in the year 1282. The church got renovated during the year 1472, in the year 1847 and in the eighties of the 20th century. The closing ceremony of the feast of St Blaise takes place in it. In spite of its modest dimensions, the Church of St Blaise dominates the landscape, this thanks to its location and harmonious proportions.
