Beautiful design for the gate. Worth a look if you are around. If you pass the gate, you see the Zerostrasse (underground shelter).

I love this gate with its twin arches that lead into the ancient city; very pleasing proportions. Here you can see sections of the ancient city wall attached. This beautifully designed gates is one of my favorite sites in Pula. This gate dates from the 2nd or 3rd centuries. Delightful. Enjoy!

This is worth a look if you pass, the gates are near the roman wall, and several other sites, but are nothing out of the ordinary. Part of the 'history trail' as you walk around.

We saw this as part of a walking tour of Pula; it is visible from a square, it is an interesting Roman remain one of a number of gates in Pula.

Worth a look. No admission fee as this gate is directly along the street. You can check it out as you are exploring Pula.

It was pleasing to see that these gates were still in good condition and are free to see but for us the more interesting part was discovering that they form one of the entrances to a series of underground tunnels that run under the castle and were used as air raid shelters during the war. The tunnels themselves are not... More

The very grand twin gates (Porta Gemina) are double-arched. This is one of the remaining original ten gates. The gates were fortifications. Evidence of original (pre-2nd century) gates can be found here (we did not see them, unfortunately).

This gate is very prominent and is very well preserved. The only problem is that a main road is right in front of it. When we first visited a delivery van was parked in front which made photos impossible. Luckily most things in Pula are really close so we passed it again and it was van free so I was... More

These double gates are not hard to locate. We had a nice stroll along in the sun to find them. A map showing all the places of interest is available in the Tourist Information Centre in the Forum square. If you go through them there is an underground museum to do with WWII.
