Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

St Simeon's Church, actually, & in the bright & hot summer it seems to radiate.
We had thought to go in but it seemed to be closed, although a couple of people came out.Faces fairly sad so we suspected a funeral was taking place.
Overheard a bit later a passing comment about strict/ unflinching dress code & rudeness on entering, being unable to be accompanied by her husband & kids.
So maybe not a funeral - just an annoyed member of God's flock trying to pay their respects.
Oh yes, the outside is attractive.
Its whats on the inside that matters ... whether a church or people.
Lets practice a bit of KINDNESS to all.

The Church of St. Simon or Crkva sv. Simun is a church at the entrance to the old town of Zadar. The current building dates back to the 17th century and is known for the mummified remains of St. Simeon, one of the patron saints of Zadar. Admission is free and it is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Great care is taken to ensure that small children are kept to a minimum and that photography is not allowed.

Saint Simeon's silver chest (1380) is kept here.
The Curch was a Christian basilica, then it became a Gothic construction and later an interesting monument of provincial baroque.

Our Chicago tour group had just enough time on our last day in Croatia to stop at this church.
Yes! you must be appropriately dressed. We came to pray in the church and pray specifically the 4th mystery of the Joyful mysteries of the Holy Rosary. The docent spoke English and saw that we came to honor St. Simeon, who held Jesus in his arms in the temple. We were not disappointed. St. Simeon's incorrupt body is displayed on the eighth of every month. Try to go on the eighth. The exterior does not trumpet the beauty and majesty of St. Simeon's relics.

Nice church in the very center of the city, worth seeing both as a monument from the outside and enter inside and see many sacral works.

Women-no tank tops/shorts and men no shorts allowed to enter. No photos allowed. You see the sarcophagus 25 feet behind a rope. Sort of disappointing. But the sarcophagus with St Simeon's remains is a work of art. They display his body on October 8, his patron saint day, for a week.

definite dress code.
we went on October 8th when the chest is on open display for a week and were allowed onto the altar up steps for a close up look at the remains of st.simeon lying in the ornate casket.
the church itself is very nice but obviously crowded at this time-worth the visit.

Called to see this church and to light candles. We were disgusted at the treatment we received at this church. There was a male member of staff who ensures that you are appropriately dressed to enter the church. My husband and I were but our children had shorts on and we're told to leave before they could even get fully through the door. The man was so aggressive and rude and the church was nothing special.

It was closed when I went but from outside seemed an interesting church with architecture differing from the other Zadar churches.

Is St. Simon's remains on view on the 8th of each month or only in October of each year. Also I am travelling from Zadar to Medjugorjie is there public transport that uses the motorway, 7 hours is way to long. I will be travelling on the 8th or 9th of September 2015
