The Curch of the Jesuits is also known in Lviv as the St.s Peter and Paul Cathedtal. From the back end its very easy to walk past this church becasue it is joined with other buildings. I visited inside the church and it was totally gorgeous. It was free to enter and beautifully decorated. However, to visit the the bomb shelter ot underground bunker, you must exit the church and walk around to the other side of the building to find the office for the ticket and the bunker's entrance. It was opened for business despite the war, and surprisingly had many visitors i side exploring. The cost to enter the bunker was 2 or 3 euros, but I know it was cheaper than the bunker at the Dominican Cathedral and bigger and much more imppressive. Thwrewas even a coffin with a dead priest inside and the bunker was not on one level it had stairs to go ip and down. Itotally enjoyed. It was really special to visit.

I did a lot of research to write this review. I placed th fruit of that research in the captions of the photos I took. Hopefully they may serve the reader in appreciating this beautiful expression of God's love for us and our love for God. If you are going to photograph the church, you will be fighting low light. But I hope you enjoy it just as much as we did. Light a candle. Pray 3 Hail Maries and make 3 wishes. I did. They were all for my son.

They've been changing Jesuit Church interior into Ukrainian Army Church. Also it's been a lot of work of Restoration underway. So you're not going to see a very spectacular view inside the Church. Instead, you'll see a lot of photos of Ukrainian soldiers and officers who died in the Donbass War; exhibition of icons, made by people with Canser to buy; asking for money boxes to be able to continue with the Church restoration.

This church was reopened after long time of being book storage. Everything is rennovated now and the place inside is shining by the beauty. Located in the center, on the crissing of Shevska and Teatralna streets. Hotel Leopolis, Chocolate store and Strudel Haus are near - all very good places to vizit

Only God knows when reconstructions inside will be finished. This is the ''Ukrainian Army Church'' now, with hundreds of photos of killed in Donbass war soldiers displayed inside. In my opinion, this Church is not for visitors who want some relaxation, because you can't think of peace, or pray quietly, when seeing these photos.

When in Lviv you will not be short of churches to look at. This is a beautiful example both inside and out. Highly decorative with paintings and detail on every wall. There was a service going on when I visited so I didn’t stay long, this is still an active church that gets very busy for services. There are crypts which you can go down for 20hr. Didn’t go in as I was unsure what is actually down there as all bodies had to be moved a couple of hundred years ago due to sanitation concerns. Probably some tunnels and caves. A must see church when in Lviv.

A beautiful church which is under renovation. But look beyond the scaffolding and see something much, much more important than the ornate arches and images of the Virgin Mary.

Photo after photo of brave young men, many of them volunteers, who have fallen in the name of independence just a few short months/years ago. A shrine, of shrapnel, shells, bullet holed personal possessions - a stark reminder of the people who supposedly like to visit Salisbury Cathedral. You get my drift.

This Garrison Church has seen many sad funerals and doubtless there will be a few more....

I "donated" a few pounds and in exchange received a beautiful, artisan decorated bullet casing, which will remind me in years to come of the sacrifice these ordinary people have made in the cause of democracy and freedom.

I ask everybody to go to the Church of the Jesuits and pay your respects lest we forget.

Also known as Saints Peter and Paul Garrison Church, it is located in the historic center of Lviv near the former western side of the towns fortifications. From 1848 - 1939 it was used as a garrison church where the military gathered for prayer.

The interior consists of a long nave with additional side naves and chapels. All are richly painted and gilded. The monumental main altar is three-tiered and constructed of pink and black marble. A large painting of "The Crucifixion with Bystanders" is placed in the center. Four sandstone carvings of Jesuit saints: Ignatius of Loyola, Francis Xavier, Stanslaw Kostka, and Andrzej Bobola are located on a lower tier.

Renovations are ongoing as evidenced by the scaffolding that made many photos difficult when we visited. Despite this, my spouse and I highly recommend that no one miss this magnificent church!
