Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I came to this station at night, an hour before my train departure. Structure is very beautiful looking from outside. Inside everything was a bit different. The hall where you must pay to sit, was almost empty. Second 'free' hall was full of people and there wasn't any empty seat. When I looked closely at people there, I noticed that almost half of the passengers were not passengers at all. They were homeless people with dirty clothes, and 'smell'. It wasn't a very nice place to be waiting for a train.

Anna in the tourist information office was a great help, she speaks good English and closed the office for 5 minutes to show me where the coaches stopped outside of the station. She even rang the coach operators office to get the registration number of the coach ,which was just as well because the pick up point was in another road to where other drivers had told us.Its not so easy when you don't speak Ukranian and can't understand the Cyrillic alphabet,I almost certainly would have missed it if it wasnt for her ,so many thanks Anna.

This is a pretty nice station- it looks very grand. There are lots of people outside trying to sell you things.

The Lviv train station is a beautiful piece of architecture. Right next to it is the next to the bus station, within a clean and besutiful area I did not enter the train station because on my arrival from Poland I used the bus station. However, I couldn't help but to admire the building and take some pictures. It is more than necessary now because by road is the only way you can enter the Lviv on your way to others areas in Ukraine. You either take the bus or you must use this train station to enter. So it is a vital transportation, and from what I saw lots of people were entering and exiting this train station during the period I was there.

One of the worst railway stations I have been!
No information in english, extensive construction works in the area in front make it almost inaccessible and very difficult to get to while carrying luggage.

Its busy, old and there are several arrival halls. Don't get stampeded in the rush of bodies getting of the trains as the steps on the trains are very steep and the handrail is fitted very close to the steps, not the easiest of tasks to manage especially when keeping an eye on your luggage.

Have been visiting often during last years. Nothing is changing. Grand, beautiful building with unnecessary expensive decor items instead of any convenience for people with big luggage, small children, aged or disabled people. Only steps everywhere.

Very natural - hot in summer, very cold in other times. Free waiting hall is a bit warmer but extremely stinky. As any other train or bus stations in Ukraine this one is used by homeless people as shelter because government doesn't build anything for them. After all, any city or town in Ukraine has a train station so why bother with some shelters?:))) there's another waiting hall with a bit more comfort for 10 Hryvnia per hour. Luggage storage 20 Hr per bag.
Last year our students returning home for Christmas witnessed a woman been robbed by gipsies right in the premises at the eyes of other passengers. Grabbed her luggage and ran away. Police is not to be seen ever. No matter old police or "new police"...

All in all, typical Ukrainian train station with all the accompanying problems. Avoid it, unless you absolutely have to use it, not visit as "an attraction".

I was here a lot of times, I don't like this place. Also so far from center.
Only outside it looks good.

What inside? I will explain you.

Only few places to charge phone. A lot of homeless and drunk people, also smell inside is horrible. Absolutely not comfortable for people on wheelchair. No free wi-fi.

Take care of your stuff, wallet and phone. Looks like a lot of people want to stole your things. Police is doing nothing.

Toilet is like 200 years ago. Just hole, also you have to pay for this :D

Recommend you to go restaurants in front of station and spent time there waiting for your tram :)

We took the overnight train #12 from Odessa to Lviv... clean and modern car with two-person cabins. The train station is a great way to travel in Ukraine. As of September 2019 there is construction outside the train station as they revise the transportation to and from the city. Still we were easily able to find our way around the barriers to get to where we needed to be.
