Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Vladicanski Dvor (or Bishop's Palace, in English) is a mix Romantic-Secessionist building located in a pedestrian zone in the center of Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia. In fact, the original building was destroyed in Hungarian Revolution in 1849, and the building, we can see nowadays, was rebuilt in 1901. Very nice building, especially I recommend. taking a photo with the statue.

Very nice architecture and design. It is a combination of Romantic and Secessionist styles. It is not possible to visit inside. The bishop lives there. It is one block from Freedom square and very close to the Orthodox Saint George Cathedral.

Walking from the Square of Freedom along the Zmaj Jovin Street we reached the beautiful building of the Vladičanski Dvor ( Bishop's Palace ). The facade of the yard is wonderful. It was built in 1901 near the Saborna crkva ( Chatedral ), at the site of the first episcopal palace, which was damaged in the bombing of 1849. The facade of today's palace represents the symbiosis of Byzantine cultures, Eastern cultures, as well as the architectural and decorative elements of the medieval Serbian monasteries. Romantic spirit of the facade completes the ambience of the old city center. In front of the courtyard is a monument to the poet Jova Jovanović Zmaj, who used to walk this way. Today in this building is the seat of Bishop of Backa Irinej Bulović. A wonderful romantic building worthy of admiration.

As you walk through Novi Sad you can walk by this very beautiful palace , the Vladicanski Dvor (translated the Bishops Palace).
For those of you into architecture you will find it definitely interesting - if you are on a guided tour the guide will tell you much more about this building - for instance you will learn the decorations are made with the famous "Zsolnay" ceramic tiles (now comes twist the Zsolnay ceramic factory got established in 1853 , but this building is older than that.....) .
The original palace was built in 1741 and was almost totally destroyed during the 1848-1849 revolution.
In 1899 the architect Vladimir Nikolic was contracted to redesign and rebuild the palace from the derelict walls that were still standing. Got finished in 1901 and this is what you can see today.
Pity is not open to the public - you can only see from the outside - but those who are into architecture will find it interesting that's for sure.
Overall it is worth a stop - and some pics, once you are in the area a few minutes stop won't be an issue.

Town has a young vibe to it. There is a huge pedestrian precinct with loads of cafes and bars. Nice place for a stop off while cruising.

Although it is not publicized as a tourist attraction to be visited, I recommend, however, to see it. Even if you don't have access inside, the outside is worth seeing. The palace is at the end of the pedestrian street Zmaj Jovina. In front of the palace is the statue of Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj.

Amazing building, so beautiful from inside as well. If you have chance, don't miss to go inside, not only to take a photo out side.
