Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Grandiose, you can take photos from the street looking towards here. Right below, there are beautiful houses. The House of Nikola Nedkovich is located here. Above Hisar Kapia is also the Ethnographic Museum

Yes, Hisar Kapia is a gate, part of Plovdiv's defence system, etc., etc. IMHO, it is of a several spots that make the Plovdiv Old Town to be a very special place not just in Bulgaria, but world-wide. We suggest that you stopped near Hisar Kapia for a few minutes and just look around. It is a very special place, indeed.

This medieval gate is the passage to the old town. It's made of nice brick stone and is a part of the old town so you will definitely see it if you pay close attention.

One of the medieval entrances to Plovdiv, this is an imposing structure and the houses just beyond are nice to look at.

Terrific stone work is the hallmark of what was once a key entrance on the city fortress wall. An impressive medley of stone, brick and mortar is to be admired.

Being one of three former gates, it is in the heart of the now Old Town. Fine National Revival buildings are all around and it is adjacent to the glorious St. Nedelya Church.

One of the three main entrances to the city. Its foundations are from Roman times. The place is very famous and has been reproduced on souvenirs, paintings, postcards - ideal for a photo of memory.
Located in the Old Town. One of the city's main attractions.

This is the TOP location for photos in Plovdiv! MUST visit, lots of history and right in the center of old town! The arch in between the two houses and architecture is unbelievable! It has been this way for hindered of years and still the best spot to visit!
