Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The statue of Milyo the Crazy, situated on the main pedestrian downtown street in Plovdiv, was made to commemorate the real character Milyo who lived in the city. The urban legend says that he was an easy-going, smart guy who could speak several foreign languages. He used to hang out in the downtown area, knew and spread all the rumours. Till one day, some allege he got crazy due to the lots of books he used to read, while others say that he got sick of meningitis which made him crazy. Nevertheless, whatever the truth is, he remained a jovial and jolly person until he died.
If you pass by, take a couple of photos with hime and whisper your wish in his ear. Many say it will come.....true!

This statue is located in the heart of the city center and it's common to take photographs with it as it's part of the landscape. Behind it it's the Plovdiv sign and is one of the busiest places in town.

The subject of this bronze was one of the towns sex-offenders at a time when the term did not yet exist. Not clear why this person was chosen to be immortalised on the High Street of Plovdiv but is provides a point of interest and colour for visitors.

The statue of Milyo, is on the main pedestrian street in the city center of Plovdiv. He was mentally unstable, used to hang out in the downtown area, flirting, and gossiping, but made people laugh and remember what it really is to be alive! Milyo is a symbol of everything purely, Plovdiv’s mascot, loved and befriended by everybody in town! Stop in, take a picture with Milyo and run his knees for good luck!

Like in many European cities and in Plodv, it has its "photo stops". This statue is one of them. Swan tourists do not miss the opportunity, so you may have to wait ... or not if you're lucky.

I didn't Know anything about Crazy Milyo, but I saw the sculpture in the corner of the stairs and I was attracted by the face expression. Enough to make a photo.

On the wall at the bottom of the steps advertising Plovdiv as capital of culture for 2019 was this statue. Not that impressive but obviously well loved by its shiny appearance. Comparable with many other statues in many other European cities.

Right next to the Plovdiv 'Together' sign as the 2019 Capital of Culture. Easy to miss initially but apparently if you whisper a wish in his ear it will come true. I'll let you know whether my wish came true.

A silly statue of an eccentric fellow who used to haunt the main walking street in Plovdiv. It's ok for a photo. But I wouldn't go out of my way to track it down.
