Not kidding; we were in and out in 10 minutes, saw the whole collection. It's a beautiful building and garden but the inside collection was quite dull, not much information and not displayed in a very attractive way.

With only a few days in Plovdiv and multiple museums to visit, a local guide suggested the Ethnographic museum. The building itself is a lovely Bulgarian revivalist home with gardens and fountains in front that make it a delightful place to soak in the ambiance. Entrance fee is 5 LEV and an additional 5 LEV for photography. The museum is... More

With English langauge signage everywhere, you can really enjoy this museum on your own. It has two floors of thematic rooms each filled with the most interesting things. The building itself is quite fascinating. Look up at ceiling and check out the way the building was designed. The charcoal outdoor walls are most unusual but they do add to the... More

Good display of old costumes and items used in daily life from long ago. The rooms that were furnished to look as they had been in the 18th and 19th centuries were especially interesting. Photo taking is allowed at a payment of BGN10. The English explanations could have been a bit more detailed.

This is a 'must see' location. Ensure you have your camera with you. The exterior of the building is visually stunning and is set in a well maintained garden. If you don't have time to go inside there is a virtual tour available on-line. There is a drinking water tap in the garden and a WC. The 'Gossip room' in... More

I visited it several times. The best was during the Museum Night when it was full with activities but you can always go and see how people have lived in 18 century

Located in Kuyumdzhieva house, one of the most beautifull in Old Plovdiv. Significant collections of copper utensils, pottery, shepherd’s wood-carving, adornments and religious items; point lace and knitted lace, costumes from all the Bulgarian ethnic territory

A very enlightening experience, showing the history of the area ! Explanations in English and such a variety of architecture and furnishings through past times to absorb you in the culture of Old Town Plovdiv. A visit would not be complete without seeing this Museum !

in my opinion one of the best museums in the city! It is located in the old town of Plovdiv and also the building is really interesting and beautiful to see, a typical simmetric house from late Bulgarian Revival. Aside the permanent collection on the last floor of the museum take place some temporary exhibitions about arts, crafts and traditions.... More
