Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The buildings in Piata Mică date from the 19th century. XIV - XVI and the characteristic of the houses is the loggia from the ground floor, vaulted, with semicircular arches supported by porters. these buildings housed craft workshops and in this market their products were presented.

It's located in the center of Sibiu and it's a nice place where you can admire the beautiful buildings, visit some museums or spend some time at a restaurant or terrace. Worth stopping by.

Nice area with a few restaurants/ places to drink. A drink at Atrium by the bridge of lies is nice.
Plus there's the council tower to climb at only 2 lei.
Just watch out for the man begging.. pretending to be deaf and dumb showing you a bit of paper.. annoying and persistent and he is not either... we watched him answer his mobile both listening and speaking. Perhaps the bridge of lies is named so after him!

Small but quite cute square not far from the main square in the old city centre.
Interesting architecture all around.

Another iconic place in Sibiu is the "Piata Mica" or Small square if you like.
It is right next to the Big square and you can walk here from right under the townconcil tower (tell you about it in another review).
As its name is stating is kind of small - but it is actually not that small but since there are a lot of parking spots around it - yes you can come with the car and park in the small square - not free so don't forget to pay your parking ticket.
To mention a few points of interest:
- the ASTRA museum
- Bridge of Lies
- Town Council Tower.
- easy access to the Huet square
- restaurants and cafes
So for sure it is definitely worth it to include this place in your tour of Sibiu city - would be nice for you to take a guided tour of the place so you get the most out of your visit.
Also check out the pastries, restaurants and cafes in the square - so you have everything needed at your convenience.
Overall is one of the landmarks to hat you meed to visit when in Sibiu - enjoy!

Piata Mica is a lovely little square very close to the much larger Piata Mare. Historic buildings, plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants and within walking distance of the rest of the sights in Old Sibiu.

Formerly a place for merchants, workshops and Saxon homes, the Small Square (Piata Mica) is connected to the Grand Square and the Huet Square by some small streets and tunnels. Here you can admire the Council Tower, which dates back to the 13th century. Originally it had 4 floors, later increasing to 7. This tower is a massive concrete construct that offers magnificent views of the city. On the side of the tower, there is also a beautiful clock.

The Square is divided into two parts separated by Ocnei Street, which slopes under the Bridge of Lies towards the Lower Town.
The northern and eastern sides of the square follow the contour of the second fortification belt, forming a circular shape. The buildings existing in the Small Square date from the 14th to the 16th. and include those lens-shaped skylights known as the "the eyes of Sibiu". Small and Big Square are those who define the flavour of Sibiu.

Nice place to browse the stalls that were set up and at the sides there are lots of restaurants, which in good weather have terraces to sit and eat and watch the world go by.

The smaller square in the Old Town is tempting. The space is surrounded by houses with "eyes" that observe, a little secretly, very carefully all that is happening here.
There is an outdoor market, various events, and there are many restaurants where you can relax and just contemplate the passing ones.
