Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I wish I had read the reviews thoroughly before visiting. Thankfully, the 15 lei admission price was cheap... even for 3 of us. There really isn't much to see. The first floor has quite a lot of simplistically grotesque religious artwork. There are also tons of costumes on both the first and second floors. A handful of them are beautifully designed but they are mostly dull and repetitive.

I have been going to this museum since childhood. First out of obligation, be it parents or teachers; someone would always drag you there. :) It always keeps surprising me somehow with the richness of details of an icon or that of some traditional outfit. See for yourself and maybe you'll end up buying a traditional outfit.

I visited this museum in December last year. It has a lot of interesting items; I admired icons at the ground-floor, rural items at the first floor and many other interesting and colourful objects. I would say that it is a very interesting museum both for adults and children; it presents nicely the exhibits and it is pretty complex. There is also a small boutique at the ground-floor where I bought two pairs of earrings, a blue for me and a red for a good friend. All in all, I recommend it to everyone who likes art, history, rural stories and who is interested in culture.

I lived for a period close to the Museum of National History and Archeology in Piata Ovidiu and after visiting it I thought that this "Muzeul de Arta Populara" was a minor one. In fact I have to admit that I was wrong, I found this one also very interesting and instructive. Thanks a lot.

Charming little museums that showcase the richness of romanian countryside. Costumes, utensils, musical instruments etc. for museum lovers.

A display of decorative household items and an amazing collection traditional costumes from different parts of Romania. Lots of elaborate weaving and embroidery. Guys were not as fascinated as the women, who were mostly ecstatic.

Located in a superb building reminiscent of pre WWII architecture this museum offers the visitor a subtle but powerful insight into this area's rich art and history.

I`ve been to a lot of folk museums, and frankly i didint have high expectations of this rather concealed building ,located near the Lupa Capitolina. I went in and i was amazed. There were so many traditional costumes, each with their original stories. It was amazing.

Called in as passing by, cheap entry and worthy of a look.
Lots to see including clothing and old tools but the building lacked atmosphere so felt like a cold boring museum
