Less than five years old, covered in jade- with the most valuable and largest pieces covered in glass for protection. In the middle of a projected (failed) new development.

Very touristy, but quite impressive. Don't buy from the vendors without some good bargaining! (Otherwise, you'll pay stupid money!)

A unique building with a lot of Jade applications for Jade fans a must see. Not antique of course, but rather newly built.

Completed in 2016 and promoted as the world's first pagoda entirely made of jade. After having seen so many Buddha sculptures in gold, brass, or gilded wood indeed a different version of the man. The pagoda also known as Werawsana makes a rather newish impression....More

This is a most exciting pagoda, entirely built from jade, though fairly new. The place is not popular with tourists but with worshipers. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and there were many busloads of worshipers mostly, I guess, from rural areas around Mandalay...More

You can visit this pagoda on the way from the airport. (It is at least an hour's drive from the airport to the city center.) The pagoda is beautiful and also contains displays of jewels such as ruby and jade.

We travelled to Mandalay especially to see the Jade Pagoda and it was definitely worth the trip, very impressive structure well worth a visit.
