We had a pleasant ride on the boat from Mandalay to Mingun. The Pagoda and Bell and everything about this place is amazing. Recommend to visit in the afternoon and catch a sunset view on the boat on the way back to Mandalay.

Each of the places at this site were quite special but the white pagoda was probably the best of all. A marvellous piece of architecture with lots of atmosphere.

This could have been the largest stupa in the world if completed but now it's the largest pile of bricks. That said, it's still incredible how they built it in the old days. The best way is to come by boat which is around 45min...More

This is about an hour from Mandalay city centre (by car and boat) but Mingun is well worth visiting (with a guide or good guide book). Can walk to all the main sites once off the boat. World's largest ringing bell......

A Brief History The Mingun temple is a monumental uncompleted stupa began by King Bodawpaya in 1790. It was not completed, due to an astrologer claiming that, once the temple was finished, the king would die.[1] The completed stupa would have been the largest in...More

We were taken here as part of our tour. The bell was huge, you can hit it with the rubber mallet and ring it yourself! Very old and weighs i think over 90 tonnes. I crawled under to take a look.

One of the things to see in Mingun. We got here early before the crowds so you could actually enjoy the bell. You're not suppose to climb under the bell but plenty of children and adults do this. Much smaller than the bell in Russia,...More

I think you can rent a bike. But not good one. Because Mingun is not a civilize place. But you can rent a horse cab it's more fun.
