Lahore Museum contains lot of rare and valuable artifacts, specially artifacts related to Gandhara Art / Budhism and Mughal miniature paintings. However, when one compares Lahore Museum with the top Museums in decor, arrangement and maintenance point of view, Lahore Museum stands nowhere. There is a definite need to organise the museum on modern lines, There are enough artifacts of... More

Lahore Muesuim situated adjacent to Istanbul Square on Mall Road.Rich history of Ghandhara civilization and many Buddha statues has made it one of the most visited museums.I went work my kids and they enjoyed it.It is quite big and kids were tired after few sections. There is a separate section of Pakistan Independence history.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Lahore Museum. The building is a heritage building from the British Colonial period. The collection of Buddhist art showing the impact of classicism of the religious art in India at the time is amazing. There was also a wonderful collection of miniature paintings on exhibition while I was there. The museum won't let... More

This museum contains some old and rare stuff which was used in early times. Things of army and kings.

I've visited this museum on a number of occasions. The layout is nice and the atmosphere is quiet. Many artefacts are displayed from different era's of the subcontinent. My personal favourite is the section which displays items from the British Raj. However, I am slightly disappointed at the size of the museum, Considering the rich history of the subcontinent and... I remember years ago Lahore Museum was worth watching and now during past decade museum turned into worst condition. Some of the galleries are closed for visitors and ordinary items (which has nothing to do with history) have taken place of valuable and ancient things in the Museum. Visitors still may find it a good museum but as I am... More

Well Pakistan is full of historical artifacts, from Indus Valley civilization to Gandhara Art. Sadly the Lahore Museum is mainly exhibits all these artifacts but mostly are replicas. This is the best you can get with the least enthusiasm from the government to preserve the history. Anyways it is a must visit if you are in Lahore.
