One of the attractions of Isfahan (Esfahan).
Old and silent but worth visiting.
Close to city centre, one can walk beside the dry river and visit a few old bridges and then walk through old Charbagh street to other historical attractions.
Best time to visit...More
Unfortunately the river has been dry for ten years due to the drought but this doesn't stop the bridge being a meeting place for the locals. Especially around midnight spontaneous singing starts with various groups practicing the acoustics under the bridge.
Apart from the historical and artistic importance I suggest visitors do what most Iranians do ... sit under its columns and listen to the local singers. It adds a different touch of beauty to its natural beauty.
