Top ways to experience The Dubai Fountain
The area
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

    It's a Must
One of very few attractions in Dubai which are actually for free and it's one of the best you can see. You can spend hours watching fountain show (every 30 mins for few mins), it's situated close to Burj Khalifa in nice area with lots of skyscrapers, restaurants and park. Only complication is get back out of huge Dubai Mall after the show. Huge lines for taxi or metro so it may take an hour to get out of Mall, other than that it's awesome

    lovely show
beautiful and well organized. love it during sunset. alot of cafes and restaurants around that area. the ground floor cafes and restaurant around the fountain are priced lower then the higher level outdoor restaurants, as well as the ones in souk al bahar across. you can check the menu and see the price difference. but overall once in dubai mall you should def step outside and be mesmerise by the fountains. got to love dubai.

Wow, wow, wow. Did I say wow?
Went in early March to the Dubai mall and it was at sunset when the first performance happened. Dusk is fine, but it’s when it’s fully night and the full power of the fountains, light show and music hits. An eclectic mix featuring the voices of Whitney Houston to Pavarotti entertained the crowds for short, but memorable performances.

    amazing
The Dubai Fountain is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Dubai. The fountain is located in the heart of downtown Dubai, and is the world's largest choreographed fountain system. The water dances to music, and the display is absolutely mesmerizing. The fountain operates in the evening and the water can shoot up to a height of 150 meters, providing a stunning view of the surrounding area. It's a great place to spend an evening with family or friends, and it's free to watch the show. Overall, the Dubai Fountain is a truly spectacular display of technology and artistry that is not to be missed.

    Really nice experience
Absolutely beautiful. Its also free (although we went on a small boat so we could be closer to the action). the best time to see it is very late evening after dusk, as the lights of the Fountain are combined with the lights from the surrounding buildings

Best Overall Thing to Do in Dubai, No Question
In my opinion, this is the single best thing to do in Dubai. It's mesmerizing. There's nothing else in the world like it on this scale. When the Burj Khalifa light show and the fountains are going at the same time, you literally cannot stop looking. You can easily stay and watch like 4 shows in a row and you wouldn't get tired of it. I've read a lot of reviews say it get crowded. I didn't really feel that way. The bridge probably does, but the area is so big and well laid out you can see it from anywhere and, to me, it doesn't really feel crowded. I made a video with some good footage of when the Burj Khalifa light show and the Fountain show are going at the same time. Search "Top Paid and Top Free Thing to Do in Dubai" on Youtube and it's the video from the Unputdownable channel. Spoiler alert, this fountain show is my Top Free Thing to Do in Dubai and you'll see why.

    Spectacular
Wonderful water displays in sync with great background music. Very popular with tourists and the place often gets crowded. The most spectacular shows happen in the evening when lights from surrounding buildings illuminate the place, making the display a marvel to watch. A good way to wrap up the Dubai Mall visit before heading back to your hotel. This is one place where you can see thousands of smiles 😊😊😊

    Fascinating
The show is really captivating with the water movements synchronized to the played background music. Remember to arrive ahead of time from the show so you can reserve a nice viewing point for yourself! Every 30 minutes there's a new show starting and each show is different from the other.

    Absolutely Spectacular
This is one of the most spectacular and amazing displays we’ve ever seen. The Burj Khalifa lit up and changing colours with the fountains/water display erupting around us while travelling around the lake in a boat. Definitely not to be missed if visiting Dubai.

We went to Dubai for my 50th birthday. Whoever chooses the music gave me an incredible gift twice. Because I am a lover of bel canto, on my birthday Turandot's Nessun Dorma (L. Pavarotti) came on and I had the most beautiful possible emotionally charged water fountain. It was better than fireworks. Before leaving, my husband and I went to look once more and we got to the water fountain on the boat and the music Con te partiro (S.Brightman and A.Bocelli) started. It was unforgettable, as if Dubai wished us a happy journey home

The Dubai Fountain is awesome with multiple shows a day you will have plenty of chances to experience it but be prepared for crowds if you view it on the Dubai Mall side. If you visit the other side of the lake you still have a great view but no crowds you can't not see this attraction in Dubai.

One of the activities that you can do for free in Dubai, it's always busy there but I understand this is high season now in Dubai ( winter ). As said the show of the water and music is better to attend in the evening for full experience it was really fun

The Dubai Fountains as a free experience are a must for anyone looking to tick off as many sights as possible, or just experience some elegance around Burj Khalifa. The fountains themselves dance seamlessly to a soundtrack - which isn’t the same every time. Under the night sky an illuminated Burj Khalifa building gives another enjoyable watch. The only negative to this is the number of people that watch as this means the perfect viewpoint is unlikely available (though they can be seen well from most positions around the lake). The large number of people watching also creates bottlenecks around the entrances to the Dubai Mall but that is understandable given the experience is free; just be sure to give yourself enough time to move on afterwards. The experience can be elevated and the congestion eased by taking in the fountain show from an Abra boat on the lake at a low cost.

Wonderful show, fantastic and spectacular, really one of the highlights of our visit here. Find a spot beforehand, it gets very crowded. Just outside Dubai mall.

Amazing experience.
What you need to know is that the show is different every time : there are several
songs , each with a different choreography.
So it is important to stay a while at the fountains to have the full experience.
There are eastern songs but also a lot of european pop songs : All night long by
Lionel Richie,I will always love you by Whitney Houston,...
It is also very beautiful to watch the fountains show from the top of the Burj Khalifa !
The fountain shows are each half an hour;in between there are also light projections
on the Burj Khalifa !
Not to miss when you visit Dubai !!!

Gorgeous view of the fountains and the led screens on the burj khalifa. There’s something to experience every 15 minutes! It’s very similar to the bellagio Las Vegas, but on a grander scale. There’s really not a bad place to sit or stand. It does get crowded, so if you don’t like crowds this isn’t for you.

We visited in the day & the evening - the evening shows are much better with the light show incorporated! Great show with the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa.
We watched from our table at one of the many restaurants in the area!
