Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building.

Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship.

At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004.

Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Great place to go and see while staying in Dubai really enjoyed the ride to the top you get treated very well and when you get to the top they provide you with drinks and a snack like a date or back lava. Amazing views well worth seeing. A bit pricey more than I've paid anywhere else in the world... More

I had an amazing experience visiting the "BURJ KHALIFA", the tallest man made structure on this planet.. Things to know: Tickets: 1) Book your ticket online prior to your visit to Burj Khalifa. This will ensure two things: Firstly, your booking has been made and a time slot has already been allotted to you and secondly, the online tickets are... More

The tower is sparkly during the day and lights up at night time with different colors. Most of the floors in the burj are not occupied so it is mainly there for the looks and for Dubai to say they have the tallest tower in the world.

We did the regular 125th floor...the views are good and its amazing to be able to be at the tallest building in the world. They also have a lot of informational displays about how the Burj was built and the logic that went into the design, etc. It does get crowded, so plan on waiting in line a lot, to... More

Sorry but for the time & money & walking is required to go through, it doesn't offer anything unusual then other tall buildings around the world. Yes it the tallest building etc. Definitely its a masterpiece. But for value don't waste your money if you are on a budget.

Book in advance - it is then cheaper and you roll up then go up. Otherwise it is even more expensive and there could be a long wait. View varies on the day (clearer some days than others) Dusk is a good time to go. Once up there you can stay there as long as you want.

This should be the most wonderful building that you can find in the world itself. Located behind the Dubai Mall this is a major spot of attraction for the visitors

The experience is breathtaking and gives you real insight what collaboration and teamwork can accomplish. Would definitely recommend (especially on a clear day) this activity if you are in Dubai.

Wonderful view! We went during the day rather than at sunset but it was amazing to see the city from so far up! We went to the 124th floor and I cannot see any advantage to going to 148th, especially with the price difference.

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
