Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building.

Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship.

At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004.

Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Burj khalifa is projected as a prime place in Dubai . The place is good but going up is not worth by waiting in the que for a long time . View from the top is not so good to invest the time and the money it consumes . It's very beautiful from outside .

Amazing! We booked tickets beforehand (recommended). The route to the elevators is lined with interesting facts and videos. Once up top, you have two levels to see, one of which is outside! Incredible!

The trip to burj Khalifa was included in our tour package, so we had an opportunity to go to the observation deck which was on the 124th floor. It takes around one hour to get to the top coz of the que and the crowd... But at the end its something to experience... We got our slot at 8 pm... More

Out of this world. Burj Khalifa, known as the Burj Dubai before its inauguration, is a megatall skyscraper in Dubai. It has a roof height of 828 m (2,717 ft), and with its antenna included, it stands a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft), making it the tallest building and the tallest structure in the world. The view from... More

Views at night is great not really high on the pricing that they charge . Others might have different opinion about what view is better night or day but the view at night is awesome to me . The elevator wait is the catchy part because of the trafficking .

This is an absolute must see sight for anybody visiting Dubai. The tallest building in the world can be seen from almost anywhere on the city dominating the already impressive Dubai skyline, but visiting it up close and then from it's two observation decks inside is really where you'll marvel at it's magnificence. Definitely pre-book tickets online for the observation... More

The view from the tallest building in the world is amazing. There were a number of impediments to getting to the views ie - security, line-ups, lack of information etc. But once you are looking out over Dubai you say to yourself it was worth it.

It takes about three minutes to reach the top floor. However it takes about 45 minutes in line to get to the elevator going up, and about 45 minutes going down. But it you pay more you get bumped to the front of the line.

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
