Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was in town for a short visit during National Day weekend and was looking for a unique local activity. Overjoyed the timing worked out when the camels were racing. More camels than you could count and endless photo opportunities.

Deprioritize the endless malls and touristy activities and make a trip out to the complex...it's such a unique regional experience.

Easily accessible via Uber (or rental car) from the city and free entry and parking. I highly recommend a visit.

We wanted to see the races and were impressed. We were lucky as 5 countries were on hand for the races. There must have been 1000+ camels. We went to the stands which had close circuit TV's so you could watch the whole race as it is quite long. There were free soft drinks and snacks. There were only a couple other people in the stands. Then we went over to the other section and mingled with the camels and handlers. Everyone was friendly and it was one of the best things we did in Dubai. A must do if in Dubai. It is FREE.

An interesting experience of a bit of culture away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai the city. Plenty of action around the circuit, and not so many tourists. Felt more like a car race than camel race with all the supporting vehicles alongside the track! You can get up close to the camels pre and post race and the locals really get in to it and everyone was super friendly.

Camel race is a lovely place. I used to enjoy working there and see the camel's events. I was part of the developer team that created their internal website.

Camel racing is a must watch traditional sports of UAE which is centuries-old tradition across the Arabic peninsula, camel racing continues to thrive as a formal sport with the Dubai Camel Racing Club being the hub of all such races and one of the most coveted race track in all of UAE is the Al Marmoom Racing Track

Great experience. I recommend everyone to carve out half a day to attend this sporting and cultural event followed by all the United Arab Emirates. In the middle of the desert you will watch the races from sunrise to sunset but even more so at the back stage that animates these events.

Having read reviews we went to the camel racing and had a very enjoyable day - well worth going. It was difficult to find out where the races were or when however if you phone the Dubai Camel Racing Club, they are very helpful. We were given the times, days, directions and encouraged to go along.

When we arrived we were welcomed. There are not many spectators and were no other tourists so you're pretty free to move around the track and between the start and finish. You can get pretty close.

Start on the stairs heading up to the bridge to watch the preparations and race start then head over to the finish line. The finish was much less exciting as the exhausted camels drag themselves over the line (they all eventually get there). You can also wander around where the handlers are and camels are waiting to race and watch the 'jockey' robots being positioned. An hour or two will allow you to see a few races and look around a bit.

As others have mentioned, there is no food or water available there and it's quite hot and dusty so take a drink.

For those who don't have their own transport, you can get a taxi from the city for about 80 dirham and it's at Al Marmoon right next to the camel hospital. BUT the only way to book a taxi in Dubai is to use the Careem App which unfortunately doesn't work in the area so we struggled with finding a way back for awhile. Buses run out there but you have to have a ticket and can't purchase one onboard. RTA were also unable to help but it turned out (thanks to the friendly camel handlers who assisted) UBER operates there. More expensive at about 140 dirham but make sure you have the app.

If you're in Dubai, take the opportunity to go to the camel races for something different. It was an enjoyable afternoon.

Something you should do once when in Dubai. Easy location to find. Hilarious watching the camels take off and then you can watch most of the race on big TV’s then about 9 mins later, down they come being chased by 4 wheel drives and then cross the finishing lines. It is definitely an experience and a cool way to spend a couple of hours. Take your own food and water as they don’t sell anything there. Plenty of parking. Enjoy.

This is a once in a lifetime experience! It was so worth the time and effort to get there on time. The camels race with remote control jockeys. It is incredible! Just be certain to call ahead because races can be cancelled.
