We had a great time while learning spanish with Marco during two weeks. At the same time he showed us the city & a lot of typical food & dishes. And we were able to stay in the dorm at the school. Very nice experience.

Sucre is the perfect place to study Spanish, with its beautiful clean colonial streets, laid back vibe, and clear accent..if you have been backpacking for a while like us, it is so nice to take a break and make this city your home for a few weeks. I arrived in Sucre with my friend to take lessons for 2 weeks - both of us more or less intermediate level Spanish - and I am so glad we chose Open Spanish. Our teacher Shirley was wonderful - bubbly and friendly, and super helpful with tips about the best museums in Sucre. She was also really flexible about what we wanted to cover in the classes which was super. We even had a fantastic caretaker Don Carlos who chatted with us every morning about Bolivian culture and heritage. There is a wonderful apartment available above the Spanish school for students with a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of space to study together. I am so sad we had to leave and will miss this city and our lessons a lot. Cannot recommend highly enough!

After travelling in Central and South America for almost 3 months and almost no knowledge in Spanish. I decided to stay in Sucre for longer and to take Spanish lessons. I started as a total beginner, I knew just a few words, which I picked up during my travels. I was lucky enough to have the amazing Shirley. She is a every good and patient teacher. She speaks English, so she can help if you don't understand an explanation. But still most of the lessons we spoke Spanish. However we had a lot of fun and visited a few places (restaurants and sightseeing). At first I only wanted to stay for 3 weeks, but because i liked the language school and the city so much, I stayed 3 more weeks. In those 6 weeks I learned a lot, I can now speak Spanish in an advanced level. And I also call Shirley a good friend of mine. Thank you very much for everything!

My husband and I spent 2 weeks learning spanish intensively. The courses were well built and always included a lot of practical lessons in the classroom as well as at the market, at cafes etc. Shirely is an excellent teacher and we 100% recommend learning spanish here!

My wife and I found life a struggle in South America without some Spanish. We decided to stay in Sucre a few weeks and take some lessons. We are more than glad we took lessons at Open Spanish from Shirley and Ale. They taught us present tense verbs useful for travel along with handy vocabulary and basic sentence structure. Shirley took us to the Mercado, lunch, and even gave a cooking lesson one evening to get some real time practice outside of the classroom. Hola Shirley y muchas gracias! Tu tambien Ale.

We spent 4 days learning basic Spanish with Shirley, a great teacher. Good classrooms, nice environment and good price. We felt that we really left with a good grasp of verb structures and new vocabulary, highly recommend.

This was my 2nd time in Sucre attending a spanish school. Not happy with my first experience, I wanted to try a different school (Open Spanish). I ended up doing 40 hours of private lessons over 3 week...

The school provided a fully immersive spanish experience from the get go. Greeting me in spanish and matching their vocabulary and speed to my level, I instantly felt comfortable.

Over the course of my lessons I was provided with excellent resources (they have books of exercises for L1, 2 & 3 students). My teacher also differentiated according to my needs (I needed a heavy speaking focus).

As a teacher myself, I was very impressed with the professional experience I received over the 3 weeks, and there was a definite increase in my competency / fluency. I would highly recommend this school for learners of all levels.

My boyfriend and I (total beginners) spent a week learning the basics in Spanish. The open Spanish school were great. They were really easy to communicate and to book in with. We had Roloando as our teacher. He was fantastic, really easy to get on with and a great teacher! We spent the week cracking down on basic verbs and grammar which is the fundamentals to learning any language. We have loads of material from the week to spend time learning in order to improve! Thank you guys and thanks Rolo!

Fantastic experience with Open Spanish school. My husband and I took classes 4 hours a day from 8:30-12:30, 5 days a week here in November 2018. We had originally planned for 1 maybe 2 weeks, but we soon decided to extend for 3 full weeks of class. The classes were reasonably priced.

We loved our teacher Mayra who we had the majority of the time. We were worried after hearing some schools cater only towards beginners, but Mayra challenged us every single day. The 2 of us had 4 and 7 years of Spanish class in school respectively so we didn’t need to start at the beginning.

The class materials were good and the homework challenging. We practiced full conversations for most of the class, but in fun ways with movies, games, scenarios, and field trips. I definitely recommend a visit to the sombrero museum. It was so interesting to see how these wool hats are still hand made with manual hands on machinery.

We went quicker through present tense and were able to work more heavily on both past tenses and future tense. We constantly worked on our vocabulary and she forced us out of our comfort zone to discuss controversial topics as well.

We had Rolando for a day (on a holiday weekend) and he was also very good. In addition, a beginner friend of ours took Shirley for over 2 weeks and she loved her!

I highly recommend this school! Sucre is an ideal location to relax in this tranquillo town and focus on learning Spanish!
