Don't be fooled by the quaint well preserved old world facade of this town - at this time of year gringo travellers are serious target for locals. Marking the start of the festival season locals love pelting each other with water bombs, but they love...More

Very nicely manicured plaza with BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS around it, BUT it is full of cute little children who are “forced” to work selling different things, shining shoes or just begging. It is heart breaking to see the “rich children” with their parents enjoying the day...More

What a pretty plaza with its large trees and statues. As Sucre is the State capital its government buildings and Cathedral are on the main square as well. When we visited in May 2018 during a general strike all was closed and eerily quiet. Still...More

This is the place where the daily life of Sucre is the best to be observed, watched and lived, day or night! Here you can seat on a bench all day and just watch how the Bolivians from Sucre are living... Children going out from...More

Like everything in Sucre this is stunning. The gardens are well kept and the surrounding buildings are incredible. Love the palace that was built for the president. But all are superb old buildings in great condition.

Happened to arrive right on Saturday Aug 17 and they were having the parade. Great atmosphere, street food, music. Felt pretty safe for foreigners too. Had some anticucho from the local vendor

We were there both during the day and at night. It is absolutely beautiful, clean, safe and a lovely area to relax at. One can just sit for hours, watching the people, families and children also enjoying the plaza. There are a lot of restaurants...More

My husband and I were just in Sucre and one of our favorite things to do was to sit and watch the goings-on in the city center square! We loved watching the local musicians, dancers, and children chasing birds! Definitely a must do in Sucre!

Every day there was something different going on in the main plaza. We had to walk past it from our hotel to go shopping, to the restaurants or just simply to sit on one of the many clean benches and watch the activities going on...More

If your visiting Sucre use this plaza as base camp. It’s surrounded with market stalls, bars, restaurants, shops, banks and tour offices - everything you might need. It’s also a pretty place to sit and relax for a while. The locals use it as a...More

A fairly safe area to hang out, people watch and do some eating and shopping. Mind your fresh vegetables and water or any iced drinks as you can get some interesting bugs. Shopping and prices are pretty great in Sucre. Lots of wool and alpaca...More

Pretty but small square where you can enjoy the Bolivian culture. On 25 de mayo, in the early morning, there is an official celebration of the independence which is amazing to watch.
