When you want some green within the city and don't have a car - this is the place for a relaxed long walk! As I spend mostly the winter months in Ann Arbor, I cannot say much about how green it gets, but I did...More

The park is beautiful and the peony gardens are incredibly gorgeous. We've even had the unforgettable experience of watching a Shakespeare play in this natural setting. And just a stone's throw from the hub-bub of the University district!

This is an old park right in the city of Ann Arbor. The Huron river runs through it and some of the diverse species are named with small signs so you know what they are. In the Spring there is a fabulous Peonese garden with...More

We did about a three mile round trip walk along the river. Only limited educational material but that did not seem to be the purpose. Near the hospital so parking can be an issue.

We took a brief stroll through the arboretum after touring the University. The trails are well marked and there are some good views of the Huron River. A pleasant change from the hard asphalt of Ann Arbor.

Despite not having public parking, The Arb is an amazing escape from the activity and action of The University, the city and hospital campus. Once inside you would never guess so much was happening around it. It’s quiet with sections of woods, prairie with grass,...More

On a nice day, this is one of my favourite places in the world. Right on the edge of the UM campus, it is absolutely perfect for a stroll, a run, or a picnic.x.

It is mid-June as this is written. The peonies are in bloom and you must see them (and smell them!). There are hundreds of varieties. Allow at least 30 minutes to explore and enjoy them. You can easily spend an hour with the several large...More
