Inexpensive, roughing-it camping with many spots alongside the water. There's a very interesting visitor center that is not to be missed.

We have been through the visitor center, and went on a scorpion hunt, owl hunt, and went spotting Bald Eagles. The Visitor Center is only open on Friday and Saturday.

Have been to a few other Wildlife Refuges, and I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this Visitor Center is. The landscape and displays are very well executed. Also, the introductory movie is excellent. When I visited (June 30), the weather was pretty hot and...More

We came upon this place while driving up Hwy. 93. We decided to stop, stretch our legs and take the dogs for a walk. We found a nice and informative visitor's center with a friendly staff. A very nice stop, I recommend.

We only spent about an hour here between other activities, but it was very peaceful and beautiful, and an interesting little oasis in the desert. Very enjoyable and I would stop again if I was back in the area.
