We enjoyed the Sheikh’s house. 1BD ticket price, hopefully being put toward restoration. Really quite interesting to see the construction and innovative use of wind tunnel “air conditioning”. The doors and carvings/lattice work were very interesting. The former grand mosque is right next door as...More

A well thought out concept and excellent implementation. With renovated traditional houses, there is a cafe's and library too. You can spend time walking through the aisles and popping in and out of the houses. Take a break and walk again to get the pulse...More

This house built at the end of the 19th century is a very great example of Pearl merchant Bahrain house, simple and magnificent in equal basis. Two floors and a lot of different spaces make it worth the visit

This beautiful historical house is a must see. I suggest reading up on the history to get a full appreciation of the grounds your walking through. I took my 5yr old and we had a great time. It's 1BD for entrance. Defiantly going again.

Frankly, after seeing places like the Alhambra in Spain, this is thin gruel. However, it is of significance in its context of Bahrain, where almost anything old has been torn down and replaced with nondescript buildings.

nice historical building, but empty without signage: more information would be useful given the difficulty of getting there (in the middle of the old city - Muharraq), it is questionable to visit if pushed with time, choose Bahrain Fort as historical site

Visited the house during late evening and the police man guarding the entrance was courteous. The nearby shop gladly offered the required change for the ticket against ice-cream cones. Night lights often transform a location drastically and this house was no different. Open centre courtyard...More

Nice house to visit as part of the 'pearl trail'. The entrance is really cheap, only costs 1 BHD and for that you can see the interior and the description of the usage of rooms. However, be aware, that it closes at 2 pm.

Beautiful architecture, definitely worth a visit. It's a paid attraction, but the ticket price is very low (1 BHD). If you want to see typical arab architecture in a beautiful old building, this is the place to go.
