Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This church has some of the most amazing artwork I have seen in all of Bolivia. It was definitely the highlight of the experience. I would go back to Copacabana just to look at those painting again.

This is a must visit when in town. It is beautifully built and decorated. It is also exceedingly popular with the locals. Lots of driver drive their brand new or newly purchased 2nd hand cars here and they were waiting in line in their cars to have their cars blessed by the Priest here. And after blessing from the priest, they will pop the champagne and use it to "wash" their cars. Understand that this is a local tradition. Very unique!

One of the must-see in this sun-filled beach resort of Copacabana is this Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana, who is the patron Saint of Bolivia. A 16th century colonial structure erected by the Spaniards.

A wonderfully beautiful church that is definitely worth a visit. Also interesting is the story of the creation of this church and the role of the Incas in it.

Currently under maintenance as the ceiling is being repainted. You can still go inside, and it’s quite impressive to watch the painters up the scaffolding with huge brushes! Pretty inside, a surprising find in a small town. No photos allowed inside - please respect this.

We had a brief visit to the Basilica. The front doors are so amazing and probably the most photographed.

Very pretty, totally worth a look in. Easy to get to, and free. There is a pretty interesting market in the plaza next door too.

Absolutely beautiful church. Definitely worth a visit when in. Copacabana. Like most Bolivian churches, there is a need for some restoration, but that lends to IRC’s charm.

One of the more impressive South American cathedrals I've seen. The interior is truly spectacular and the exterior is immaculate.

The external view of the Basílica , gives no indication of the wealth inside, it is a shame that photographs are not allowed inside, because without them you have no chance to describe the beauty and wealth held in this site.
The town is fairly small, with a few markets on the way down to lake shore.
