We had just an amazing Gala Dinner with the group from over the world at Cambodian's most iconic ruins temples in the complex.
The service was terrific and outstanding utmost care with Cambodian hospitality. Dinner was just scrumptious and best ever.
It's beautiful country with accommodated people.

At the end of a long day we were presented with our last temple before leaving Angkor. This was the relatively small and uncomplicated Prasat Kravan. On approaching the temple is was clear to see a five structure brick built complex on a common plinth. Fairly simple yet somehow endearing. On walking around to what I believe is the front ( opposite side to the approach ) there are some delightful stairs and also each part is open offering a wonderful view of some internal sculptured brickwork. I found this whole simplicity and size to be a welcome break from the complex nature of the many temples we had visited earlier. This, I understand, was also constructed in the 10 th century so one of the older constructed temples. Many will pass this and you may just find it one too many but I thought this was superb. Different in many respects to what we had seen earlier and superb in how simple it was/is.

There are thousands of Temples in Siam Reap.
To visit them we try not the miss the best ones and therefore we try to plan our stay according to the numbers of our days there.
If you have only one day you'll certainly go to Angkor Wat (the biggest), Bayon Temple (the faces in the walls) and Ta PRohm (the liquid trees of Tomb Raider 1 movie).
On the way, between them there are many other Temples to see like Baphuon Temple.
If you are 2 days, you'll add more Temples.
3 days...Roluos Group with Bakong temple ...you got the picture.
For that you'll probably buy the day tours offered there by your hotel/resort or tuktuk drivers on the streets.
This Temple, Prasat Kravan doesn't appear on these day tours, however we happened to pass by it ,and interestingly a wedding was in preparation there.
I don't believe this is a Temple you should go if your time is limited, but if you pass by it, a short stop is recommended.
I have joined a few pictures to the many already here, you'll see by yourself if you want to visit it.

The is the name of the temple. It is a small jewel built in the x century by military officers. It is distant from the main temples as only royalty can built close to the main temples. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu and has 5 towers made of brick making it unique when compared with the other temples. It has bas-reliefs that are nice and different as they are made on bricks. The central tower has a stone that was used for purification rituals with water.
It is not big. It is a short visit, perhaps for 30 minutes.
Locals celebrate weddings at this temple at night. It looks beautiful at night when the lights are on, reflecting on the brick walls.

Small temple that does not look so impressive. Go around to the backside and climb the steps and look inside to see the beautiful reliefs. Well worth a short stop!

We visited Prasat Kravan early in the morning, which I understand is the best time of day to visit as the sun shines onto the reliefs/carvings at just the right angle. Our guide told us that they are barely visible in the afternoon so a lot of people miss them.
We took advantage of our early start and I thought the temple was very beautiful. It shone golden in the sunlight and even though it is a small temple I think it's worth a visit just to compare it to the other styles you'll see. It's nowhere near as grand as Angkor Wat of course, but inside the towers there are some beautiful carvings. When you consider that this temple was completed in 921, and you can still enjoy the beauty of the work of the craftsmen that built it, it really is lovely.
Even though we didn't spend a huge amount of time here, we did enjoy our visit and loved the stories our wonderful guide shared with us.
Things to remember when visiting any of the temples:-
* Be sure to book a private guide so you can move at your own pace. Make sure you get one that really knows their stuff as hearing the stories and legends around each temple was far more interesting than just hearing the facts. (If you need a guide then feel free to PM me - I'm more than happy to give you a recommendation!)
* Wear sunblock and a hat. It is HOT.
* Go early to take advantage of the sun's angle on the carvings/reliefs.
* Like all the temples - be sure to take the time to enjoy it.
* Please remember to dress respectfully. Yes, you're on holiday and yes, it's hot but this is a temple.
Enjoy! :)

Aside from my experience at Bayon, the 'almost secret' ground alleys of the Terrace of the Leper King, and Angkor Wat, I really cherished Prasat Kravan.
Although it is not as popular as the other temples and is usually just taken for granted by most, I personally think that Prasat Kravan is one of the most unique - the murals/bass-relief of the central tower was indeed a find, and it has a history much older than most! Though there are little carvings and artwork to be seen in this unpretentious site, the interior artwork of the central tower is the "only" Angkorian artwork one can see on bricks! Interestingly, this set of towers has a twin temple-towers in Takeo province - the Prasat Neang Khmau.
As one of those who have seen and seriously understood the temples in Angkor, this one is highly recommended. Stopping over for a quick 10-minute visit should be enough to satisfy one's curiosity.

It's a small 10th-century temple consisting of five reddish brick towers on a common terrace, a Its original Sanskrit name is unknown. The modern name in Khmer, "Prasat Kravan", means artabotrys odoratissimus temple. The temple was dedicated to Vishnu in 921
The only interest lies in the bas-reliefs dedicated to the god Vishnu which are located on the interior walls.

The small temple along the way to Sras Srang which has a great building architecture with five main tower where I believe you feel different when you arrived here. The compound of this temple is small but I’m sure you will be able to capture such a brilliant photos with this building. The pond nearby there is having a pretty lily flower pink and white and those all are absolutely fantastic nature. Don’t miss it.

We visited this Temple in the evening with our tour company Scenic for our farewell dinner. We did not know what to expect and were blown away as the evening unfolded. We were greeted at the bus by a torch parade of warriors who lead us up the path to pre dinner drinks. The temple was lit beautifully and the it was all in traditional Cambodian style. The dancers customs were stunning and the entertainment was most enjoyable. The area for dining was land out like a wedding with beautiful white linens. The food was of a very high standard too for such an event. It was a fabulous evening and one of the best organised events I’ve been to in a long time.
