In the light of some of the negative comments about visiting Tonle Sap Lake, I think it's important to think in advance about what you're going to see there and what your expectations are. We went in a large tour group, so didn't have the disadvantage of having to negotiate a price or an itinerary with a boatman, but I... More

In april the village was not floating. However it is still very interesting. Going along in a small boat in a narrow shallow stream, the homes on stilts are incredibly high above you, it's amazing and you really get the full perspective how high the water must rise. Good view of village life. Very quiet in april, so not surrounded... More

We paid $50 for a slow boat ride down a lake a so called "floating market" where we were being strongly guilt tripped into buying two big bags of rice to donate to the school opposite for $90 no less!! However we were not stupid and had already seen other Chinese tourists begrudgingly being guilt tripped into buying one bag,... More

Booked a tour for half day at 10am. Am glad to do it for 4-hour tour. There's nothing much to see. Took a boat ride along the river. A quick stop at crocodile farm. It was very small with 10-15 small crocodile inside. Walk one round in the souvenir store. There's a snake which you can take a pic with... More

It is a trip that will show how people can adapt to a lacustrine lifestyle and make a living out of this lake. Amenities are very sparse, do not expect western facilities and restaurants. We purchase food from the canoe vendors and eat on the boat. There are many operators and they charge in US Dollars. Make sure to understand... More

FREE for local, ENTRY fee for FOREIGNER visitors. SP We ( my friend and I ) had a very bad experience in the tonle sap lake tour. Our hotel recommended to visit the lake and watch the sunset there. Its a nice place to visit for a break from the heat when visiting temples for days. Initially we enjoyed the ride a lot although the boat was horrible. Its probably better to visit when the tide is high (about a metre higher). We saw the "floating trees" but because of the level of the water they were not any... More

This beautiful scenery cannot be duplicated elsewhere and is well worth your time and effort. Locals in fishing boats are a Mom and Pop operation as they literally cast nets again and again, seeking food to sell at market and to fee their family.

I took the tour organised by the Easy Go Tours & enjoyed this trip to the Tonle Sap Lake . We were driven by a comfortable van for some distance. As we approached the site of a Kompong Floating village,we alighted from the van & boarded a steam boat with comfortable seating. We saw the unique site of a large floating village... Wonderful trip that takes you out to the heart of the huge freshwater lake. You get to see fisherman at work with nets and checking on their pots. It was amazing to see the floating restaurants on the lake and we stopped at one to see the baby crocodiles they rear and also their pet python! The colourful boats you... More
