About
I like to take my guests away from the crowds to experience the real Cambodia with my Photography Tours through my eyes . I was born in Takeo Province, along the boarder with Vietnam. Takeo is sometimes referred to as 'the cradle of the Khmer civilization.' In 2000, I moved to Siem Reap where I began work as a tuk-tuk driver. Over time, I met many professional photographers from around the world, people who were seeking something other than the well-worn tourist trails. With a growing curiosity in the activities and work of these photographers, I began to photograph myself. Since 2005, I have had a number of Western tutors, and have gone on to establish myself as a well-known photographer in Siem Reap Province. I have developed a series of tours through Angkor (Siem Reap), Battambang, Kampot, Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh. I have experience of other areas in Cambodia if you wish to see more of my country I can offer transport by tuk-tuk or my air conditioned car.

Excellent guided photographic tour by Mr Kimleng Song around a local village near Siem Reap. Kimleng offered advice on the best shots and positioning based on his extensive experience. Highly recommended to see a different side of Cambodia.

Booked Kim Leng for a five day photography tour in November 2023, his english is excellent, a lovely guy and so knowledgeable about the special places to get the best shots. He is a very good teacher and taught me so much about photography. Kim Leng is a great guide and I highly recommend him and will certainly be booking him on my next trip to Cambodia.

Kim Leng led the photography trip for 13 of us from a photo club in Bangalore, and I was a part of it. Being a professional photographer myself, I can vouch for Leng's skills in photography, his ability to assist anyone with great compositions, and technical aspects on a camera with interest and patience. It is not easy to do this consistently for over 6 days! Leng is quite good with this art of enabling others to do better photography by showing them vantage spots to stand and shoot. Being a photo lead for many trips in India myself, I know how strenuous this task can be. So hats off on a job well done.

In addition, as a guide, he constantly gave us enough and more details about the places we visited, it's history and things we can look out to experience.

He took us to unexplored or less visited places, too, apart from the touristy ones, which is well appreciated. I definitely will recommend Kim Leng to all my friends and travelers. Come to Cambodia and travel with Leng, and he will show you the best bits of the country. And, on a personal front, I came back richer from Cambodia with a friend/ a buddy like KIM LENG. Thank You Leng for everything and such a memorable trip.

Koemle or Kim was our photography guide from 30 th October to 5 th November for our photographers group of 13. Kim was knowledgeable about light conditions, locations, secret spots of each location and the history. He was before time every single day and looked to our comforts throughout. Water, fresh brewed coffee, snacks and tea were aplenty.
He was a bundle of energy and kept us on our toes throughout so the days. His recommendations for local restaurants and places to hang out were spot on.
I would repeat this for another group without any hesitation.

If you want to get off the beaten track and see the real Cambodia beyond just the main temples, join a tour hosted by Kim Leng. As a local he is extremely knowledgeable, and I can see through his interactions with the locals that they really love him and his efforts to help them by bringing visitors to witness their way of life. He also does a lot of philanthropy work to help the less privileged in his community and he speaks passionately about giving them all the opportunities to succeed in life. He is also a very good photographer and is able to coach and teach amateur photographers to get really good photos on the tour. Highly recommended!

Bong Kimleng was amazing in showing us around Angkor and its surrounding complexes. We had arranged beforehand to do proposal shots of my fiancéé and I as well. He took us to Sra Srang in the early morning to view the sunrise where there were no crowds. We took a few shots here and they turned out beautiful. I appreciate his use of lighting and timing to take his shots. You can tell Kimleng is knowledgeable of the area by how he composes and times his subjects to get the perfect shot.

Afterwards he took us to the less visited parts of the Ta Prohm and we circled up to the Northern Gates where we had the entire place to ourselves and also ran into locals as they started their morning. Snapping so many photos along the way, Kimleng would provide us with context and stories of the area. Ta Prohm was amazing and he knew all the spots that created so many breathtaking photos.

Angkor Wat was our last stop and by early afternoon this place was already crowded but in all our our shots, he composed them so well that you couldn’t tell there were people. Again, I appreciate how knowledge he was of the area because he knew what spots were great for photos and how the angle of the sun would affect those photos. At this point during the day he offered to drop us off and then pick us up again for sunset photos but we were already satisfied with our shots and so tired at this point.

In all, I would recommend Kimleng to anyone who would appreciate photos and a tour of the Angkor Wat Complex. He was very knowledge in explaining the area and history of the temples, though he admits he doesn’t know in-depth detail of each temple (which we were fine with), what we were most impressed with was his photography skills. Kimleng is also a really funny guy. I also appreciate his personality and how he carries himself. Even though I am Khmer-American, I spoke to him mainly in English during our whole tour. He made me feel at home and spoke to my fiancée (who isn’t Khmer) and I with the upmost respect and humor.

Our proposal photos turned out amazing and so many wonderful comments were made by family and friends. 10/10 would recommend!

Kimleng is an exceptional Tourguide. We booked a tour with Kimleng Photography Tours as a recommendation from our hotel in Siem Reap. Kimleng is your perfect guide if you are looking to experience something different than the mainstream tourism hotspots. He will bring you to some astonishing temples, places around Siem Reap (and i truly believe also all around Cambodia). Kimleng is an open. friendly, happy and inspirational person. It was such a joy to have spent 2 full days with him. My Wife and myself enjoyed our first day so much, we booked another day on the spot and where very luck that he managed to juggle around his timetable to make time for us. You will not be dissapointed when you book Kimleng as your Photography Tour Guide in Cambodia. He has great knowledge on photography and also on Khmer Life and history. Kimleng is your Photograpy Tourguide in Sieam Reap and around Angkor Wat, if you want to get a different view from the temples and its details. We had Kimleng as our Guide for 2 Days with a private Car and driver. They provide you with water and cold towels to refreshen after your temple exploration and photoshoots around Siem Reap and the temples. Kimleng is such a lovely person to be around and for Cambodia to have as a resident. He supports local people and teaches kids in his private time english and other subjects. Purely because he has the means to and enjoys doing so. We where truly inspired by Kimleng and all the Cambodians we have met, on our tour with Kimleng.

We had a brilliant time with Kimleng. We booked him for a day and a half. He’s extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of all the sites we visited around Siem Reap including Tonlé Sap lake and . I got in touch with him from the UK and everything he promised was delivered…and more. At Angkor Wat, he brought his tripod for my camera and gave me some invaluable tips and advice on low light photography. Although he must have done this tour a million times he made us feel like we were his first customers! His English is excellent which is an added bonus. Such a lovely guy. Highly recommended. Thanks Kimleng!

It is difficult to highlight only one or two aspects of what made our trip with Leng a great trip. Its a culmination of so many things that made it a perfect package. Let me highlight a few here:

- Leng was very courteous, friendly and professional in handling our booking. We wanted to go on our first tour outside of India as a family. There were many many apprehensions. My wife Smitha reached out to his number on whatsapp and we were able to get everything done in a very easy manner. His tips on the time to come, place to stay were all phenomenally useful in making our trip a fab trip.

- Though Leng did not insist on homestay, we saw the pics and picked it. It is so aesthetically designed in the midst of a garden. His family is very friendly. They also accommodated our cooking and cooked vegetarian Cambodian food for us. a couple of times. It was also heartening to see the school being run.

- Leng as a tour guide was very committed and had thought through many things. He is very accommodative and can change the plan to suit your needs. He's also a very hard working person; we were on the tour from morning 7:00 to evening 8:30 and walking or driving most of the time. Yet he showed no sign of frustration.

- Leng's expertise as a photographer was very useful. We now have atleast a thousand print and frame worthy photographs. His value additions are key to this. We benefitted with his choice of place and time (where he ensured the fall of light is utilized in the right areas), suggestions on the angle/framing and any technical help needed as per the expertise of the photographer. He's also flexible to accommodate various levels of expertise. He is probably the only local photographer guide, the rest are all westerners, who are unlikely to provide the same level of flavour as he does. Finally, his photographs in his home are an inspiration, so much that we changed a bit of the itinerary to shoot some of the pics he has done.

Please enjoy your trip in Cambodia along with Kim Leng Sang!

I have visited Cambodia in 2016, my guide, Kim Leng is a very friendly guide that is photographer friendly. He has great local knowledge and is about to bring me to appreciate the local life n stories.

Post covid in 2022, I took the opportunity and bring my 2 young children to a learning journey, immersing in the rich culture and history of the country. Kim Leng is very patient and understanding to the children, enriching them with stories at each sites and help with their photography skill.

Strongly recommended.
