Hello, We did not go to Ha Long Bay and cannot give you any information about it. Sorry. For our time in Siem Reap, we used Angkor Helping Tours for two full days. They have government licensed tour guides who are specialists in many languages. We did see guides with Japanese-speaking clients, so you should have no problem if you request one. We spent two days touring the temples and spent part of that time seeing both the sunrise and sunset from Angkor Wat. Worth doing. Our guide planned the itinerary to cover many temples in the large and small circles. We were very happy with our decision to use Happy Angkor because it gave us a private guide for three people traveling together. We had our own air conditioned van and could move around with complete flexibility. Further, they use some of the tour proceeds to endow a school and plant trees. Another fun activity was the elephant ride to see Angkor Wat in the distance. Like your Temple Pass, it is an added price ($20 usd) and very worth it. Also, try to leave one day in Siem Reap to wander around on your own -- we went to the Sombai Rice Wine makers and the Phare Circus. Both were worth doing and very fun. If you go to Phare, get the highest price reserve seats for the best experience. There is a lot to do in Siem reap and the city is very tourist friendly. Have a wonderful time!
