    Temple in the holywood movie.
Ta prohm temple is known as a Rajavihara meaning mother of all Buddha, The king J 7 built this temple for his mother. TA Prohm with guide Sothik Sov
We visited about eight temples and this is the best of the lot (they’re all beautiful). Overgrown with dramatic trees and roots, restored in places and left untouched in others, with its delicate green and red hues and gorgeous carvings, this is a magical place to visit (recommended first thing on the morning to avoid crowds, though it was fine when we visited mid-morning). We went with guide Sothik Sov (part of a full sunrise at Angkor tour). He tells amazing stories of growing up in the grounds of the temples, is a true temple-architecture enthusiast and Cambodian history buff, and great company. He can be found on +855 98 469 628 (WhatsApp)

Secret Trail of Ta Prohm Temple
It is the great walk from east entrance outer-side to north corner and turn left through the jungle to the North Gate of Ta Prohm, It was amazing, so quiet and hear different bird songs. We saw beautiful smiling faces in the middle of jungle. then walking through the small trail to the temple. Best way to do to avoid from the crowded.

    ruins reclaimed by nature
Visited here in the afternoon on 24-Dec, 2023. A band of locals playing melodious music in the woody areas outside the temples, feels magical. The trees and plants growing on the temples and nature slowly reclaiming the ruins is a sight to behold!

    fabulous temple in nature
so cool to experience!!!! our guide showed us the stegosaurus - wow. you could almost watch the trees taking back the land, destroying and swallowing the structures. apparently the famous face sticking out from the tree roots is no more (not sure if that is true but this is what we were told). don't miss!!!

    Amazing structure
Ta Prohm is probably the most well known of all Angkor Temples, mainly due to the huge trees which have taken root and grown right through and all over the temple. It was built in the late 12th century as a Buddhist temple, and religious and learning centre. Thousands of people lived in and around the temple, but sometime during the 15th century it was abandoned and only "rediscovered" in more modern times when it was decided to leave it as it was.

    Mystical Temple Entwined with Nature
Ta Prohm, famously known as the ‘Tomb Raider Temple,’ was one of the most atmospheric sites we visited in Siem Reap. The way nature has reclaimed the temple with giant trees growing through the ruins is both mystical and beautiful. It’s less crowded than Angkor Wat, allowing for a peaceful exploration of the temple. A truly unique experience that transports you back in time.

We were walking about 5 minutes to the temple and from the front you see the pretty giant tree growing on the roof of temple and in the temple there are many biggest trees with big root that makes temple charming. This temple known as Tomb Raider Movie by Angela Julie. Strongly recommend to see that temple when you are in Some Reap.

I have wanted to visit Ta Prohm for many years & it did not disappoint! It has a special energy here. I absolutely love the trees wrapped around the buildings- Mother nature taking back the space. It truly has to be experienced to feel this place. It is my fave out of all the temples. And if you can get some time without other people in the space it is truly special. The only downside is the hawkers harassing you. We learnt quick smart to ignore them, "no thank you" didn't work.

This was one of my favourite temples during our visit to Cambodia. Its not far from Siem Reap and can be seen on the tour with Ankor Wat and Bayon temples. We got a tuk tuk from Siem Reap for the day to take us around. On the way to the temples you are taken to a ticket office where they sell day tickets which are well worth the price for what you can see. Ta Prohm is famous for the trees that grow out of the stone work and the scene of the Angelina Jollie Tomb Raider movies. Great photo opportunities and a great place to visit.

When you buy your ticket to Angkor Wat, you will entitled to all the temples within this huge complex. Ta Prohm is one you should not miss. It is difficult walking so make sure you are up to it. Lots of foliage and blocks of stone throughout the temple. The ruins which go back 800 years or so are incredible to see. The temple was overrun by the jungle and is in the process of being rehabilitaed by the Indian government. Although, it does not look like much has been done so far. The sights are breathtaking. Trees literally growing out of the huge stone blocks, intertwined along with large exposed roots with the stones. Just be careful walking but enjoy the incredible sights.

This temple is interesting to visit, because it is left overgrown, so you can see how the vegetation swallowed up the temples before some of them were cleared and restored. Also, if you are a fan of Lara Croft, Tomb Raider...you can walk in Angelina Jolie’s footsteps.

The ancient ruins are surrounded by a lush jungle, with towering trees that have grown around and through the structures. The atmosphere is serene and peaceful, and you can almost feel the history of the place. It's an incredible experience to walk through the ruins and marvel at the ancient trees that have taken over the area. Ta Prohm is a must-see for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of nature and the past!
