My time in Siem Reap, Cambodia was amazing thanks to Alessandro! my sole objective was to click amazing pics and find the hidden spots and Alessandro certainly helped me on that part. Amazing experience, worth every penny, he is extremely humble, fun to talk to and a good teacher as well! Do organise some photography tours in other countries and count me in! He will also help you customize your itinerary based on your requirement/time/interests.…

After three years in Cambodia, I will soon go back to Europe. I wanted to spend one last time at Angkor Temples and take some photos to bring home. Several friends recommended Angkor Travel Photography. I booked a half day “Hidden Angkor Photo tour” with Alessandro, an Italian photographer who has spent many years in Siem Reap and knows the area very well. Ale is very professional, he can speak Italian, English and Khmer, communication was easy, package fees sent by email were clear and detailed. He showed me some hidden or less known spots of Angkor and helped me to better understand my camera (a Fujifilm X-T100). Plus, he gave me some useful tips about photography (composition, light, perspective). You do not need to be an advanced photographer in order to enjoy this tour. The workshop is for everybody, beginner photographers (like me) are welcome too ! Here are some of the pictures I took in the morning at Angkor Wat (sunrise) and Ta Prohm (early morning). If you are planning a trip to Cambodia in the next future, do not hesitate to contact Ankor Travel Photography. Thank you Ale, hope to be back one day! Grazie ancora di tutto e a presto 😊…

I am not a highly-technical person with the phone or camera. My friends can take hours for 1 or 2 photographs, including edits. We are so different. Ale(ssandro) turned out to be a great guide in helping me enjoy bridging the divide, by providing amateur me a necessary combination of patience and focus. I share 6 photographs here, the first being my untrained eye excitedly jumping in, and subsequent photos taking into account what Ale advised along the way and letting me experiment. Fortunately, there has been rain in this recent month of March, so some greenery was apparent instead of being dry. We made our way to Preah Khan by an entrance which is not accessed most of the time even with locals, and the quiet walk to the temple was engaging, such as when monkeys moved through the trees high above us. Ale showed me secrets and angles while encouraging me to be imaginative, getting into position and always behind my camera. He asked my interests such as landscape or other interests, before he started dispensing advice. He said a lot more than what I am sharing here and as someone with a lot of technical expertise, he knew best not to overwhelm a beginner with too much information in a short span of time. I'm sure I got a good grounding of basics in wanting to start aiming to achieve necessary amazing photography. Over the course of the morning, I saw so much. Ale is not a historian and he makes that very clear, but he can also provide trivia which adds insight into what you are seeing because of his professional background in a different field. It isn't just a tree or rock or female carving. Apsara or devata, trees at least 400 years old, water blessing in action- And he always asks any strangers permission to take photographs and we only go ahead with their consent which is professionally laudable, because I do not like anyone who shows no respect for strangers despite wanting to have them in photographs. Ale will always ask, even if he knows anyone he is talking to. The unedited photos I am sharing here from several locations are a small number of examples from what I captured, because I am not willing to share the best ones here. At least one of the photos is a snippet of life at a monastery in Preah Palilay. The best ones I have experienced are even more intimate and wonderful, in how Ale taught me to bring life to inanimate objects, or respecting and preserving the emotions of Cambodians strangers who let me into their lives. I hope these examples will help strangers realise what a wonderful time I had, and my deepest thanks to Ale for making this morning such a unforgettable experience! I appreciate Ale suggesting this day as a good day for seeing the most possible variety of experiences! Most happy to hire his services again, when I next return to Siem Reap and want to further improve my photography skills!…

GREAT time and experience with Alessandro. He’s very flexible, and captured the locations as well as the individual personalities of our family members perfectly. It really couldn’t have been better.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience with them! I love to take photos, but never really knew how to use my camera properly. On top of taking me to some beautiful sites, they helped me learn about the different functions of my camera, and I took some of the best photos I've taken in my life! I'm so excited to practice more and use these new skills! Thank you so much!…
