Big piece of the history of the country. Currently one of a ghost towns or abandoned "oficinas salitreras" in Spanish. Worth to be there to see it on your own and to hear the music which is played loud at the place. Crazy feeling.

This is definately a place to visit if you enjoy history. There is very little restoration going on but hopefully this place will be preserved. There was a sadness about being there due to the emptyness and history of the location. my family enjoyed it...More

One of the many pretty village areas in southern Chile. Did not find anything spectacular, but did enjoy the central plaza and the shopping streets connected to it. Seemed like just a regular town with friendly people - not a tourist trap.
