Beginning of november 2016 we did an excellent tour with Billy Morales and his assistent Carolina of Mistico Outdoor / Chili responsabel trekking. We started in Iquique, together with a French/German couple and in Billy’s nice fourwheeldrive we drove east into the desert. On the way to the small village of Chusmiza we visited Humberstone mining village, which was more... More

Billy Morales comes fully equipped with knowledge, patience, flexibility, humor, and an espresso pot. “We don’t travel without it,” he says. Our second trip with Billy was an extraordinary 12-day drive around the altiplano (high Andean plateau of north Chile), the Atacama Desert, and Salta, Argentina, via two stunning Andean passes. Mr. Morales left his “guide hat" at the Chilean... More

We spent 6 days with Mistico exploring the Atacama highlands and desert with our 8 and 10 year old boys. We spent time with an Aymara family learning about llama/alpaca herding, swimming in fabulous geothermal pools, sandboarding and fat biking. The experience for our family was amazing. Billy is a biologist by training and gave us education on the ecosystem... More

Our tour with Mistico included fat biking, camping, visiting Pica, experiencing local Aymara culture, birding, and cycle touring through the Altiplano. First, Billy and is crew are outstanding. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, including traveling with our dog and having a vegan diet. Second, the overall experience was one of my highlights in during our South... More

We spent several days with Billy and Joanna of Mistico exploring the unknown Atacama. First, we headed to Alto de Pica, where we set off on a thrilling evening fat biking ride through the sand dunes before camping under the stars in the dunes. The following morning, we did the whole ride all over again, only this time in daylight.... More

We had a one day trip organized by Billy for four people. We drove 500 km from Iquique through the most interesting part of the Atacama desert and finally back at ten to Iquique. We went through passes which were 4350 m high and visited Indian villages and saw interesting rock formations and salty lakes at very high altitudes with... More

On the basis of previous trip advisor reviews we contacted Mistico at the last minute to see if it was possible to arrange a tour. The reviews were not wrong! Billy replied immediately, proposed some possibilities but worked with us to find out the sorts of things we wanted to do and where we'd like to go. The tour was... More

I recently did a weekend tour to Salar de Surire. It was an amazing place. Billy was great, giving me all the details of the tour and Iquique city by email. He met with me at the hotel and gave me many tips about what I can do in Iquique. We did a running tour in the morning and it... More

During my third visit to the Atacama Desert, Chile, I wanted to skip the most popular parts of the desert and meet the unknown and authentic northern territory, so after some inquiries and web search, all got me to Mistico Outdoors. This guys know their stuff, territory and local people, leading me to wonderful uncrowded paths: I went to Ariquilda... More
