Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My 8th trip to China with a considerable amount of time in Humen. I now have friends in Humen and it's a fun place to hang around. Every destination seems to be nearby. Visited the Opium War Museum but the main attraction are the clothing stores. Whether dining outside or doing karaoke (not much fun for me...'sigh'...) I always have a good time.

The fashion district occupies nos. of blocks consisted of numerous retailers and wholesalers outlets. The fashion, including the styles, design, and nos of colors are incredible amazing 😉. However, the prices are no longer comparable than in the old day.

A place that you can't miss fashion design, retailers and distributors. Plenty of fashion shops and exhibition anytime. Easy access to Hongkong airport by Ferry or Bus to Hongkong and Guangzhou. Latest equipped with High Speed Rail to Guangzhou and Shenzhen North within 20 minutes. Metro to Dongguan city take you less than 30 mins. Several 4/5 star hotels around with good seafood as well. A China Opium Museum remarks the history of China Opium War, worth a visit.

Humen to be quite blunt is in general a dirty unrefined place. Work to the town is ongoing and knowing the Chinese it will be a modern town within a short period of time.
The place itself is an industrial hub attracting none or low skilled workers from the provinces. Not recommended unless you have to go there, try other cities close by which are far more modern and cultured

I stayed in Humen for two and a half years as I worked in Nansha.
The town is underdeveloped, and dirty and not really a destination if you want to see culture or the modern side of China. Try donnguann, or first her south shekau for a more western friendly place to visit

We found Humen a interesting town. It's very much like most Chinese towns on the surface but we were impressed once we scratch a bit deeper and found the opium museum and the war museum. We spent a 1/2 day at the opium museum. If you are English speaking be sure to get the recorded information for when you look at the exhibitions. We had a great afternoon and took a rickshaw for an hour on a tour of the town just to see the other sights.

Hu Men is a frantic place, I mean in the good sense of frenzy.
Lots and lots of people, all kind of stores, good, really good restaurants around and also good hotels.
Of course, HuMen is not a touristic place. It is also not the right place to purchase the famous "copies" of brand goods.
However I feel it's a pleasant kind of busy place.
Need to experience
