Absolutely overpriced by Chinese standards, we paid almost 30 euros per person.
We got an impressive lift ride and a view that shows the scale of Shenzhen.
Unfortunately, the staff were very unfriendly and refused to give us a justified discount. This is not good customer service and also very untypical for Chinese tourism!
Shenzhen has better things to offer.

Over priced and you do not get much for the money spend. The elevator ride is impressive but that is about it. Waste of time and money unless you want the bragging rights to say you were on top of one of the tallest buildings in the world.

I’ve been here twice and it’s definitely worth saving for a clear day - if there is one when you’re here, given Shenzhen’s air pollution -, as the view when we went last August was truly incredible. (Have a look at the difference in the pictures.) The whole experience is great too, very professional, informative and friendly. Even when it was very smoggy, it was still wonderful to see the scale of the city and the comparison with the border with northern HK.

We went at night. Compared to other things in Shenzhen this was a bit pricey at 300 Yuan each but it was well worth the money.
The view from the top was amazing. Brave people under 100kg can stand on small glass platforms in the windows that look down on skyscrapers as if they are matchboxes.
There is the obligatory gift shop at the top but other than that nothing much else other than an amazing view. There are shops and restaurants further down and and around.

Ping An International Finance Centre | Free Sky 云际观光层 Observation Deck
The PAFC , located in Shenzhen, is the 4th tallest building in the world and 2nd tallest tower in China. The observation deck has floor to ceiling windows which provide 360 panoramic views of the whole of Shenzhen along with interactive art, VR Games and a small cafe / gift shop. You can tour the deck in blocks of two hours which seven blocks throughout the entire day so choose you time wisely. We choose to go for the block just before sunset so we could experience the view at both day and night.
The easiest way to get to the PAIFC attraction is by using the metro and getting off at the Shopping Park (购物公园站) Station at exit D.
Take a left and go down the escalator to get to the entrance of the Free Sky 云际观光层 Observation Deck which is on the 116th floor.
Tickets are currently ¥200 RMB (Yuan) for adults with discounts for others.

We were staying across the street and while out on a walk a I took a picture of this interesting-looking modern building. Only a day or so later I thought to look it up online and then discovered this was the fourth tallest building in the world. And that is typical of our Shenzhen experience - China has invested so much in making this a modern world-class city and it is only recently being discovered by Western tourists. After lunch one day we were passing by and thought "hmm I bet they have an observation deck." Sure enough they did and it was awesome - very few people visiting, so it was spacious with 360 degree views over the city. We were the only non-Asian people up there and a young couple asked to take my picture, which was funny. It was an overcast day - which I hear is the norm - but the views were still spectacular. On a clear day you can see across the bay to Hong Kong and Macau. They had a cute gift shop and a virtual reality ride which looked terrifying up there too. I am sure much of the wonder will wear off when this becomes a packed tourist trap but for now, if you can enjoy it while it is still somewhat unknown, it is magical.

A friend who works for Free Sky invited us for a special tour (no waiting) so I agreed. I would have never bothered on my own because I thought we would just be heading to the observation deck and walk around. I am thinking this will be a two star rating at best. I was wrong. On the Observation Deck, they have a VR ride. You get on a toboggan-like device with side handles. Next, you put on the VR headgear and the ride starts. The ride feels real. You are riding the toboggan outside the building on a track. At some points you go off the track into mid-air it feels real. It became so freighting I had to close my eyes at several points. There is not a point that the ride doesn’t feel real. I kept thinking to myself. It is not real. It is not real. When finished my forearms and forehead were wet from perspiration caused by fright. I must give the visit a five-star rating.

I have visited Shenzhen for the first time of my life, and I have visited the Ping An Finance Center "Free Sky" Observation Deck.
This is the 4th highest building in the world and the view from the top of is amazing. Everything looks so small from the top and yet, even further view looks close.
If you visit Shenzhen don't miss this, spend half an our in the observation deck and enjoy the view. It is worth it.

We had a chance to visit the Ping Finance Centre during a recent trip to Shenzhen. Not really much to this. Just a blind elevator ride and then an obseration deck with a small gift and snack area.
Nice views from top. Not much else to recommend this

Huge disappointment! For $30 USD per person, this was a tremendous rip off. We didn't even know to think that the glass of the tower would be so dirty you can barely see out. That picture attached with the camera pressed against the glass is infinitely better than what you'll see with the naked eye.
It's at 116 stories, so I get that it's probably difficult and/or expensive to clean, however simply tell people you can barely see and they can make an informed decision.
Diwang Mansion is also tall, in the city center and about $10 USD. Would recommend that. You can also take a picture of this tall tower from there.
Don't be ripped off.

are there any restaurants or coffee shops?

Yes, there is. At the top and at the end of the round tour there is a coffee shop with hot and soft drinks.
The rates are a bit higher than in the outside.
Enjoy your time.
