If you want the best experience go during the week when its not a public holiday. The water in mid-September was still quite warm. Wear lots of sunscreen and apply regularly.

The main beach area was quite crowded so we went to the marina for lunch and then took a boat out, which was nice.

International standard beach can not compare with Hawaii or Australia but it is nice Beach is fine shell not powder sand like the best beaches globally Waves are small No rip Water is warm and mostly clean Nice beach to relax away from shenzhen

Doesn't matter. You'll need a taxi, Didi ride or Uber to get there from the metro. I recommend Didi. If you take a cab it'll probably cost a lot more.

Take the metro in Shenzhen. Line 1 to grand theater, exchange lines to line 2 (xinxui) and get off at Huangbeiling.

I think you will find the water temperature is a bit cool in March- around 20 degrees C. The air temperature should be pleasant, though.
