This section of the Great Wall is not as magestic as the other ones I have been to. You can combine this with Dragon Head and go there for a day.

As a big fan of the Great Wall I had to visit a real section close to the dragons head - the head is just rebuild. Unfortunately Jiaoshan section is closed in winter time - Great! But I found a driver who showed me a picture of the wall behind the first hills, were it will cross a river -... More

Took a trip to see where the great wall wall starts. It takes a lot of effort to climb the wall but it is worth it to stand on such a historical site.

Shanhaiguan well worth a visit. Most reconstructed but enough original buildings to get an idea of the period. Jiumenkou where the Wall crosses the river and the Ming Great Wall Tunnel were again well worth spending time. The tunnel was certainly a place to cool down. The surrounding area is a fruit bowl with peach, apple, pear orchards and many... More

All parking was closed so i took a place couple 100 meters away and walked towards the beginning of great wall but was stopped by the authorities. The... More

Our day at the Great Wall was filled with fun and adventure. We enjoyed a dragon dance and a self guided tour of the grounds leading up to the wall. We were able to get many beautiful pictures as well. Our friend hurt his foot when he took off his shoes and walked into the water to take a photo... More

Great place to see the Great Wall! The wall is in great condition here, it is quite pleasant to walk on top of it, and the gate itself is worth the time to visit.
