Had no idea what to expect at the Tribe of the Three Gorges and was pleasantly surprised.
There is a board walk through natural bushland through the gorge. Even though things were staged along the way, it was most impressive.
Loved the fishing boat, the...More
We did a Century Diamond cruise up stream from Yichang. Some of the scenery was fantastic especially in the Goddess river. The guides and staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty to do most days with temples on the list. The dam visit was good and...More
We did 3 excursions on our yangtze river cruise however the tribe of the 3 gorges was the definate highlight.
Yes it is a replica village because the original villages were destroyed for the dam project, but the way it has been recreated is faultless....More
We went there last month, it was a great experience to learn how great our country is. As I am not much interested in science stuff, but only from the outlook, this place is definitely worth of going! Beautiful nature and amazing human work!
Our cruise through the three gorges was nice but not remarkable. It was relaxing and the weather was cooperative.
The absolute highlight of the cruise was the overview of the dam. Unfortunately, there is no tour of the facility itself.
The three gorges area is some of the most beautiful in the world. It almost reminded us of Canadian Shield country with the rocks and water. . It was misty or foggy most of the time which simply added to the mystery. We were on...More
Our group took a five day cruise down the Yangtze River and were amazed at how breathtaking the scenery was from start to finish. The hills and mountains along the gorge are rugged and beautiful with occasional communities scattered throughout. The history of the area...More
Gorge is amazing and people have eeked out an existense on the side of some of these gorges, with no visible or roads possible due to the terrain. Lots of historic Chinese architecture dotted occasionally along the banks, to take in. Cruising along here
The River cruise down Yangtze River is mysterious and stunning with the fog and mist that surrounds the mountain.
It’s very different from Li River cruise I Guilin to Yangzhou. Many visitors on the boat wanted good weather but I found that the mist and...More

My wife and I did a 11-day Golden Triangle & Yangtze River Cruise tour with Travel China Guide (TCG) in June, 2016. We were totally impressed with the TCG tour, although not overly impressed with the Yangtze River cruise part of it. TCG passes you onto a cruise company and picks you up at the end of the cruise. So, the not-so-great experience with the River cruise is not TCG's fault. My take on it is that, no matter which company you book your cruise with, it's unlikely that the cruise itself will turn out to be superlative. It's the nature of the beast with China still trying to come up to snuff in their tourism industry. However, the shore excursions during the cruise included in TCG's tour package were pretty good if you don't allow yourself to be suckered into buying everything the various tour guides recommend, sometimes fairly persuasively. The Dam visit was the most impressive of them. Here, China showcases her engineering prowess for the whole world to marvel at. From my experience, the Hoover Dam in the U.S. pales in comparison. Hence, I recommend booking with TCG. You can Google "Travel China Guide Cruises". On the results page, select the hyperlink titled "China Cruises: Private & Small Group Yangtze ... - Travel China Guide". Under that link, you might find what you are looking for under "Three Gorges Exploration (YR01)".
