Despite the engineering and construction we were disappointed with this. We had hoped to see the water gushing from the dam but were told this only occurs in the summer. We walked around the whole area and ascended the extremely high escalators but apart from...More

A world renowned project involving an ongoing 22+ years of construction. The Yangtze River is “tamed” with combination of sheer determination, Chinese industriousness, perseverance, technology, both local and international, and the death of 55 lives. If you intend to just visit the dam, a day trip is enough, but if you also want to visit the three gorge area an overnight stay would be more ideal
