Xiyuan Temple is kind of far from the other attractions but you can take Suzhou tour bus for 3 RMB to get there. You can find monks in this temple.

I always love going in and around temples the older the better. The hand painted artwork and bonsai trees are wonderful

We went there during the weekday avoiding a lot of crowds. We saw a lot of Buddhas. This is a place where you should find your inner-peace. We particularly like the pond in the back where my little one met many turtles, birds, and giant fishes in a very close range. I also spent some time in the gift shop... More

On the edge of the town surrounded by shops it has easy access and is something you can take in on your day out shopping.

It is a fascinating entrance into the symbolism of the Taoist pantheon, with scores of taoist deities lining the walls of the interior. The three statues at the front of the temple are also fabulous, as is the finely carved lantern hanging from the roof above... More

An interesting Taoist temple in the middle of town which has been recently restored, and is worth a visit. Many beautiful statues inside, and only 10 RMB entry fee.

Don't miss the temples. This is one of the main parts of the culture and there are so many different types.
